Quality Trunk Spoiler Type S...
I just stumbled across a site that sells oem type s lip spoilers for an OK price. Around $320, not saying that's cheap, but better than $600.

$348 shipped, still expensive for a spoiler but beats the $550 I'd pay elsewhere and I can sell my old base WDP spoiler and the one I put a CF overlay on w/ epoxy & clear coat to make up the cost.
Guess we'll see if it's the Type-S spoiler soon enough!
Anyone know if the 2x holes for the OEM base spoiler line up with 2 of the studs on the Type-S spoiler? That would make marking the other 6 holes I'd need to make a lot easier.

I just purchased one as well. I figured I would order it before they catch on and raise the price. Well, anyway want to buy a spoiler express lip spoiler? I just got that in the mail yesterday.
When you get it in mind taking some pictures? I'm curious to see that it is the Type-S spoiler before I purchase it. I've run into problems before where I had ordered parts for a specific trim and received the part from a different trim.

That website and along with many other actual factory parts websites are OEM parts at discounted prices. They are not going to raise the price, it is what it is. It IS the Type S spoiler, we all know about that rice. It is still too much for anyone to want to buy, for a piece of plastic anyway.

If they send me a base spoiler I'm going to be upset, I'll send it right back. I think the base spoiler is discontinued at this point anyhow, it's not available on any of the OEM sites.
Well it's definitely OEM Type-S spoiler at a $250 discount or so, mine came in today

This one doesn't come with a template like the base one that I bought off ebay and put a CF overlay onto so no mounting instructions or anything.
Piece of foam on the end of it in one pic, looks like a scratch but its not.
Also the other end of some of those clips and the bolts for the studs are not included.
Going to take a look at a parts diagram and see if I can see how it's supposed to clip in and seal to the trunk lid, need the female end of a few of the clips, and rubber grommets or foam seals I'd think and probably seal with auto/marine silicone.
There's no bottom part for double-stick tape like on the base spoiler, so going to have to figure out a way to mount it.

Answered my own question today, checking the alignment of the studs between the base spoiler and type-S spoiler shows its quite a bit different. Compared to my old OEM WDP base spoiler, I have the CF one on the car right now.
The studs are off in both directions, they go further forward on the Type-S and further inboard as well.
I looked at part numbers for the different trunk lids on one of the OEM sites as well and it looks like the Type-S has it's own trunk lid. I'm thinking the Type-S lid comes with the holes pre-made in it for the spoiler to fit onto it.
I'm thinking I should remove the white clips and disregard the female ends of those and make 6 holes in the trunk, the original holes are going to have to be sealed with a grommet and auto/marine silicone from inside the trunk. I'm thinking I can carefully file out the hole a little where the white snap clip goes into the bottom of the spoiler and fit another one of the blue snap clips with the foam on it into those spots on the ends of the spoiler, then just remove the white snap clip in the center and disregard that mounting spot altogether. The blue snap clip will slide into there most of the way already but it won't 'clip' into place, the stud definitely will not fit. Both are available separately from the spoiler on the OEM sites. A lot more material would have to be removed from the hole for the white clips in the spoiler in order to fit one of the studs in there.
The female end of the white snap clips that goes into the trunk is going to be difficult to get to line up on the trunk right to fit this spoiler onto any of the non-Type-S TLs so I don't want to use those clips at all.
Anyone else with experience mounting one of these on a non-type-S?
Here are some pics so you can get an idea of what I'm referring to.
Just wanted to share ideas, since a few of us have ordered these now and we'll all be going through the same thing to try to get a good fit mounting them.

I'm going to do something similar to what crook did in post #155 and use 2 of the studs and some 3M VHB tape that I have.

Like I had said before, the spoiler is from the website Acura Parts Warehouse which only sells genuine acura parts. We are all aware of this and many other sites, but its still a lot of $$ for a little spoiler. Congrats on the purchase though! I put the type s spoiler on vietquangsta TL a few months ago with 3M automotive tape on both front and rear. It was a good strong hold. The Type S trunk is different, only because of the spoilers mounting holes. Thats the reason why the spoiler doesn't come with the template. Its not meant to be an add on to your car, but a factory replacement. The correct way to do it would to be to drill all of your holes and use bolts to hold it into place. Keep in mind that ppl like to steal these off trunks if they are just taped on with 3M. Good luck on fitting it. Shouldn't be hard.
Damn... i shouldve found this thread before i went and bought the 40$ on eBay... I didnt instal it though and im asking for a refund... Its not the same look.
My garage is looking for accident type S to get one for me used.... until then i wouldnt pay more than 200$ painted and installed.

$320 is a good price seeing that it has gone up from the oldest thread I have found on here, $168 to $500+

I've seen ppl get them for $100 from a junkyard. I was trying to get a company to make one. Ive contacted about 10 +/- and non will. I dont know if its a patent issue or whay. They make replicas of all other ones though...
Ive been trying to get one locally in the GTA as well with no luck. Its crazy how hard it is to get a decent Type-S spoiler, and when I find one, they basically charge an arm and a leg to ship to canada. Wtf!
Thinking about that actually, getting a PO box would work. Although buddies at the border on the Canadian side, have gotten pretty good at asking the right questions "what did you get while you were away". LOL.
