Quad tips on cars

If you see a civic with quads what would you think?

Fast rewind to 2004 the 3rd gen just came out and you see someone slap a quad exhaust on it. What would you have thought at that time?

I guess i am trying to get at is what js considered accepted at what time. Is it only accepted in the car came out of factory with quads vs someone putting one on when the tl didnt have the type-s for 3rd gen back then?

Discuss.

I for one buys into whAt is "accepted" meAning ok TL now has type-s which has quads. If i saw one 5 years ago i would think... WhAt the?

If they make a car aesthetically pleasing and the car already has an aggressive stance, it will work.

If you take your 1992 accord and throw in a quad, it will be laughable. If you take you neon srt and throw in a quad, it will be understandable

I think the quad tips acceptable or not depend on the rear end.. I personally don't like the civic so civic and quad tips .

quads flow with the car so YES on the quads. Quads on a civic look silly I think, I don't think of a civic as a "quad exhaust type of car"

I actually prefer the Base exhaust over the quad-tips. Quad-tips look stupid and pointless IMO unless you actually have a dual exhaust.

Why is it pointless?

It's just a matter of looks. The exhaust tips don't add power. If that same Civic was putting down 600hp at the wheels would you still think quad tips look silly?

I don't like quad tips on the base TLs with the base A-Spec kit. Looks awkward and stuffed in. Quad tips look good with OEM Type-S tips or ATLP with the Type-S rear bumper.

only if it's functional... I can have a v12 swapped on a civic and have a quad tip that's functional =]

but of course that will never happen... At least not on a civic lulz

if executed correctly than yeah. as long as it has a "factory/OEM" look... ive seen a 3g TL w/quad tip here on campus with quads which looks horrendous.. the pipes are too small and they stick out past the bumper like a sore thumb.
