Hi, I'm looking for a good place in the Putnam County, NY area to have my windows tinted. Any recommendations??

 

Just fo not go to PUTNAM WINDOW TINT OFF ROUTE 6. I am not happy with their job on my TL.

 

thanks, I was actually considering going there...they quoted me a price of $265.

 

I live nearby your area. The better shops are in NYC. It's worth the drive and you'll save a few bucks and even off on gas.

 

who would you recommend in NYC? I have also been told it's better to wait until the weather warms to have tinting done.

Tinters will say it's fine to tint in the winter but that may be just so they keep making money. Not that there is too much problem with that, it will take longer for the adhesive to cure and it may freeze temporarily etc. Instead of waiting 2 days you might have to wait 1 wk to roll your windows down. (I was rolling the windows down the same day, but it is advisable to limit it if you can.) I just had mine done 2 wks. ago, absolutely perfect job and no problems with the cold.

But unlike me if you could wait 3 months, then it's ideal if you could do it when it's warmer. But it will be harder to schedule appt. then too. It's up to you.

 

thanks rocky, I'll probably end up going to tintmax but I think I'll wait until spring. Looks like they did a great job on your car!!
