Purchasing TL and Doc Fees...
Purchasing TL and Doc Fees...
First let me say that this forum is GREAT! I currently drive a 2001 CL and have enjoyed reading posts on the CL and TL forums. I will be purchasing a 2004 TL within the next couple of weeks (possible couple of days). The best quote that I have received is $400 over invoice (excluding ttl). I have managed to get the $288 doc fee waived from one dealer locally, but the other one seems to be stuck on their $399 doc fee.
First, considering it's the end of the model yr, does $400 over invoice seem reasonable (I'm located in Scottsdale, AZ)???
Second, any thoughts on the best approach in dealing with these unreasonable doc fees???

Bogus!
Document fees are total bullshit. They are just extra dealer profit. They will admit this if you ask them.
I refuse to pay one dollar for doc fees. Sometimes they are pre-printed on the order form. I cross them off before signing.
If they insist that it has to be on there (It doesn't), I just make them take it off the other end on additional discount.
I repeat: they are total bullshit, even if common place. I hate their con-man attempts to wring more money out of the purchaser.
