OP-post up some pictures when you get it. It doesn't sound like something I would spend my money on, but do your thing.

I've had the Spoon magnetic oil drain plug since the first oil change on the TL since it's first oil change back in January 2006...

The metallic shavings/materials got less and less with every oil change...

I did it cause I had it on my Integra and decided to put it on the TL cause if it starts have more shavings with every oil change it's an indicator to a problem somewhere...

I read somewhere, I think the Oil Bible, perhaps some other study, that magnets actually do work. It's not that you're going to find big shavings, but even the tiniest of metal particles will stick to a magnet (common sense). Not sure how much oil actually passes right next to the end of an oil drain plug though.

Magnetic drain plug couldn't hurt. I have an EZ drain myself, but it's not magnetic.

You can find these for as little as $6 shipped on eBay...

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?LH_PrefL...&_sop=15&_sc=1

Of course it's not pretty bronze anodized aluminum with a cute logo etched into it. Not that a finish like that would last through too many oil changes anyways...

BTW, here's the pic of the original Password JDM one:

yeah I was about to say, you can get those super cheap on Ebay. I've even seen some auctions for parts that throw those drain plugs in for free. But peace of mind is always worth a little investment, I can see how those would be helpful.
