Problem or Normal?

I test drove a 2008 TL Type-S and noticed when I put it in reverse the mirrors slanted down, I guess to make parallel parking easier.

I then bought the same car a couple months ago, the mirrors DO NOT move when I put it in reverse.
I thought there were NO options on this car so I am guessing that mine is broken.

Any once else seen this problem?
Thanks

Is the mirror switch moved to one side or in the middle ? Nothing will tilt in the middle and if it is to a side thats the side that should tilt.

Naw seriously... I think you need to slide the adjustment button to either left or right and the corresponding mirror will self decend when you place your gear selector in reverse.... thats how it works on my 05 at least. One other thing.... I bet you were probably just so very excited to drive your new baby.... you completely forgot to read the owners manual!!
Not a sermon, just a thought!

"process of elimination" , "guess and check" realli that hard to do? "trial and error" ring a bell? move the switch left, notice the left mirror tilting. move it to the right the right mirror tilts, neutral position, no effect. as a driver, u should know the function of EVERY button in ur car. i dont understand how u can just buy a car and drive it without being curious about all the features in ur car. sry, i dont mean to sound mean, but i think ur juss impatient. realli make an effort to solve ur problem, and then if its still unsolved, post it on AZ forum. dont worry about pushing buttons, there is no self destruct button in ur car.

96.8 percent of the questions can be answered with a quick trip thru the owner manusl

Especially important to read are the traction control and brake system- they are hi tech and you need to understand to operate fully

An '05 is ready for its first brake fluid flush if not done already- then every year forever to protect those expensive abs parts

I think this guy really meant, "Welcome to Acurazine!"

Hopefully your problem is a simple fix, as suggested.

I am pretty sure the switch has to be in the middle position for the tilt feature to work.......

^middle position turns them off...you have to choose which side you want to tilt...push the mirror adjustment knob to left to tilt down the left, right to tilt down the right.

Thanks for the serious answers...

I could have a) read the manual b) googled it c) pushed all the buttons

But then Acurazine wouldn't generate any ad revenue because no one would be in here asking questions or answering questions.

Seriously guys this is a great place to come and hang out and help each other, no need to fill up every single thread with the old 'read the manual jacka$$' line
