I believe you are talking about the air deflector. That item deflects air up into your engine compartment to assist in cooling the engine. If removed, your engine may overheat which will just be the beginning of your troubles with the car. I wouldn't touch it.

That piece (if you are referring to the piece that is about 3-4 feet long) actually redirects air into the underside of te engine compartment.

If you remove it, I would expect the engine to run hotter.

I notice another plastic piece under the front bumper that is about 1 foot long. I think that would be used to mount the a-spec kit.

how low did you slam the ride? if u lowered it that much your ride must be harsh as hell(so expect lots more rattles to develop). that piece underneath the car does have a purpose so removing it would not be wise.

The part has two purposes: 1) Create a low pressure area behind the radiator for improved cooling, and 2) reduce airflow under the car to lower drag. It is designed to take some abuse, so occasional dragging will not hurt it. My car is stock and it still drags on some driveway entrances, despite my trying to avoid it by angling and going slow.

looks like it all has been said already. Years back my sister had a Transam and tore that plastic piece off somehow...car would always run hot after that - had to buy a new one and replace it. Seems like a lame piece, but apparently it does its job.
