Pricing of new TL-S...thinking of buying soon!

Hey all,

I'm thinking about buying a new TL-S 6mt black on black. Best price I could seem to find around my region is $36,000.00 out the door (5% MD state taxes and tags included).

I think I can do better...however, this price does include the current $1500.00 off incentive.

What do you all think? Can I get it for cheaper? I was honestly budgeting to spend $35,000.00 out the door.

Thanks

If your local dealers participate in the Online Purchasing program, try getting them in a bidding war. It will only go so far, but if they know you're serious about buying and that a few hundred bucks will make a difference, you can probably get the car a bit lower. But IMO there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room beyond the price you've already been quoted. Also make sure you're dealing with the guys who have the car you want in stock. They are always more willing to give you a better price than if they have to do a locate. Good luck!

FYI...I paid 35.5K for mine here in the Chicago area. I didn't comparison shop a lot...just went in and beat on them until we agreed on price. I probably could have done better but I wasn't in the mood to deal with more than one salesman/sales manager after having haggled for hours.

OK Hertz. not EXACTLY... OTD means "out the door" and would INCLUDE tax and license ALREADY so it sounds like your answer should have been....
"No, I got $35,500 + tax and License so it was $________ OTD"
and your statement above would be more realistic. The reasons I bring this up is that it seems SO many of the readers here don't absorb the ACTUAL details and then go around saying XYZ got a deal for ....... And then it propagates. That being said, I'll propagate what I saw in another thread. Someone got $34,175 BEFORE tax, title and fees so that should be your mark. I think that same person probably bought before the $1,500 incentive was in place so you should be able to get there from here. Do a search on that amount in this forum to see who got it and how they did it. Hope this helps!

Argh! Now I can't find that original poster (I am SO bad sometimes) but someone was working on a TL-S with a price in the low $34's. I am certain about that, just can't find the thread for my justification...

^^I apologize if my response was misleading. I just assume that since every state has a different sales tax and lic. fee, that when you talk price it's going to be without those items included. My bad. Will be more specific in the future.

Burbs - Sorry if I came off as a pain. This site has a history of guys stating different things. You answered to clarify so my first post chastising you was probably not appropriate. But thanks for not flaming me for being a arse. I've started a new thread in an attempt to get accurate info from the other TLS buyers to so who really did get what before any fees.

The $1,500 is new( cannot be combined with the rate) up from $500 that was available before with the Special APR.

Invoice is $35,637.58
HoldBack is $762.50
There is $1500 dealer cash that cannot be compined with special financing

Lets get real here. Knowone works for free, dealership has to make some money.

I was able to get another dealer down to $35,900.00 today.

My goal and budget is $35,500.00. First dealer to honor that price for me will have my business. Until then, I will keep trying...

So, a price of $34,137.58 would be wholesale less the incentive and sounds like it's "do-able" since the dealer gets to retain the holdback as well as any other fees he can tack on (financing or otherwise). Thanks for the info. I would be paying cash for the difference anyway so the financing didn't mean squat in my particular situation. Now, if I can get $24K out of my car (assume it will have to be private party), I may get the chance to "move up" 3 years and 42HP for a measly $10K. Not bad at all!
