I think hes a rip. I have a guy who does in New Jersey for 60$ both headlights. Plus way better custom work then JNC in my opinion. You can send him the lights and he does them and sends them back.

lol. It's all a matter of opinion.

I think JnC does a decent job here (and no, I didn't have him custom my lights nor do I plan to). He's providing a service to fellow AZ'ers and he seems to be a dependable/trust-worthy individual. It takes time to bake the lights, then "customize" them. Time = money. JnC also has a headlight trade-in system where he sends you the light first, and you send back yours.

I don't know the guy, but from what I see, he's alright in my book.

If someone in Jersey wants to spend hours just to make $60, good for him. That guy/kid is either very generous, or very naive. For his own sake, I hope he starts charging more cuz $60 can barely buy a tank of gas these days.

I would charge 250 for the set to be cleared and 400 to clear, take the off and reinstall.

How much money does one make in a day of work?

To take off clear the headlights and then reinstall them it is an all day job.

If anyone thinks thats too expensive they should try doing it themselves; if they can't figure it out with the DIY's provided on this fourm then the should be happy to just pay.

JNC looks to be your best bet price and quality.

If you find a better price somewhere then you are more than welcome to get it done from there, but lets refrain from judging my work when you havent gotten any done from me in the past and neither do you intend to get it done in the future.

+1 I spend close to 6 hours on a one set, and that is just to clear them, anyone can stick the headlights in an oven and clear the headlights but hardly a few can guarantee their work as I said earlier. I have spent close to 3k just in TL headlights (9 sets to be exact) just so I can offer the core exchange program to people.

As I said earlier, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'd be a little ticked off if someone passes judgment on my work due to my pricing when they have never had any experience with me in the past.

Word of wisdom right there

I usually dont bother with stuff like this but as you said, if the guy is charging $60 then more power to him but lets not use that as a yard stick to measure others work.

Good Luck with that guy in Jersey, garunteed there is something fishy about the deal,

1- he has no idea what he is doing
2- just does it for fun, and wants practice
3- he is from planet xantar and does fine work and requires dingalberries as payment along with 60 bucks.
4- he does do it for 60, looks fine at first, then about two weeks later they fog up.

-all seem like they are perfectly possible, or maybe someone is pulling your leg gassing you up that you are getting a great deal.

I have cleared 4 sets of headlights, it is not fun, it takes time to do a good job, and any one who takes 60 bucks is only going to make about 50 after the silicone and other various supplies,
50/about6 hours of work = 8.33 dollars an hour for custumized work, remeber you get what you pay for!

I make 30 bucks an hour doing a much easier job than custumizing headlights for people.

I had my headlights cleared by JnC. After helping with 4 other member’s headlight clearing I found the price from JnC a good deal. The work done by JnC was far superior to the work we did on the 4 sets of headlights we cleared.

hmmm....that's a bit too long don't you think?
even I use the heat gun method, an hour each for opening them, for just clearing them would be around 3 hours for a set.

JnC does good work!! nobody should be slamming on him!! PERIOD!!

What does a skilled custumizer pull in an hour?
anything less than 30 bucks an hour is an insult.
6X30=180 + materials and taking and placeing orders
obviously everone wants to insist that this is not hard at all and its easy to do a quality job..................
Fine go with the 60 dollar job and be unhappy
Then get it done right by Jnc
End up paying 2 people to get the job done right
and dont forget 2 of your own days pulling off and installing headlights!

Wow some of the people in this thread are just ignorant or stupid.

I know this job takes a few hours to do, and most of the people I've seen DIY say it takes forever and they never want to do it again. On top of that, any shop charging 60$ to do it obviously spends an hour on it b/c shop rate would make it impossible for them to spend the actual time on it.

Not sure why that first douche felt the need to start talking shit about Acurazines official headlight vendor, hell I just sent him a set from west coast of Canada b/c from what I've seen/heard he does a great job.

Wow JNC. 6 hours to clear the headlights? You mean it takes 6 hours to put them in the oven, take it out, separate the headlights, take out the amber, change the bulb (If you want) put the headlights back in the oven, heat up the sealant, and put it back together..This takes 6 hours, and you charge 150$ for that?

Come look at my TL. Look up my headlights. They were all cleared for 60$ from a professional. Anyone interested, look on post I have made and look at my lights. No condensation, looks great. Hes done hundreds of cars and custom headlight work. Look at his website. ANYONE interested in wanting them done for a good price, message me Ill help you set up anything you want. He does custom paint for headlights, and HID KITS. Just did my fog lights looks AMAZING. http://lightwerkz.net

I am sure you do great work, but it seems as if your trying to seem like your doing this huge job and yes it is my opinion and I thought I am allowed to express it, I just think 150$ for what takes an hour to hour and half is a little to much, and all I am doing is directing those who want to pay cheaper for the same job done "professionally." I am trying to look out for the fellow TL owners to save some $$$. You guys can check my car out, I got cleared headlights and HID Fogs. Cleared headlights cost 60$. [IMG][/IMG] Cleared Lights Fog Lights stock Before This guy put in HID fogs HID Fogs 6000k after.

^^ I know Ceaser personally and he does indeed do a great job . I am a member on AZ first and vendor later, I did not doubt you or what you said earlier but you have to realize why I got upset and that was because you called me out and my work by stating that I am a rip. Just because you find someone else to do the same job that I do cheaper doesnt mean that my work is shitty or I am trying to rip people off.

I encourage people to do it them self but if they cant then my services are present. I have tried to be as accommodating as possible with the trade in program as I can be since I know that hardly any of the members can bare the thought of putting their off of the road for more than a day or so.

I know it can be done in 1~2 hours but I much rather do it in 6 so there are no complaints with my work.

Again, no knock on Ceasers work but lets not knock on mine because I charge 125 for which he charges $60.

well, $60 is alright if he's just opening the headlights and take the diffusers out, nothing else.

if it comes to installation, painting the headlights, etc....it gotta be more than $60.

I don't think it's right to criticize JnC either. Everybody has their price and he has the right to name his. It is totally reasonable. I have a big time trying to believe that someone who does headlights for $60 is going to be very detail oriented, use only top notch methods and materials and take their time with it. These are $1200 headlights, I wouldn't just trust them to anybody. (Actually I did mine myself because I could hardly trust myself to do them right let alone someone else!)

I know you are going to say "Well look how beautiful mine are!!" He just popped the diffusers. And did he use Nissan's Butyl rubber? I doubt it. How do you know they WON'T leak? I have done headlights a few times and I am done because there is no doubt it is too much work. It IS an all day project. You have to wait for the paint to dry properly etc, you can't rush it. You have to do the mod to know. Time is money. Then + energy involved...JnC ONLY wants $125 for it? Bargain in my book because I know I would charge 3x more!

When you do this hundreds upon hundreds of times, you get it down pat like anything else. I already stated an opinion as this is a discussion board. I am sure his work is done, and his work is the same as JNC just for cheaper $$. He has done 3 of my cars no condensation along with 2 other friends who have done there cars with no problems. Either way, if condensation ever did occur he'd be sure to take care of it.
