Potential Purchase

What's up everyone.

I'm looking at a 2008 AT CBP Type-S and I'm curious to get the opinion of a group that knows these cars deeper than I do. I think the price is a little on the high side and plan on walking out if it goes above 23,500.

Price: $26,923
Miles: 43,844

Int Condition: Damn near mint, small scratch on the material (Carbon Fiber-ish) outlining the cupholder area.

Ext Condition: Very good except for 2 semi-deep scratches in the bumper and hood. The cheap fill job makes it look even worse. I'm more worried about the hood since A-Spec kit is in the future.

What do you think?

Don't quote me on this but it's going to be hard to get that car for $23,500. KBB says the car is worth $28k and with the cosmetic flaws you mentioned, $26k is fairly reasonable.

Try to get an out the door price, or "OTD", when you make an offer. I would offer $25,500 otd and see what they say.

I think the price is on the high side. If the dealer doesn't wanna play ball - walk away. You'll end up finding one without the cosmetic blemishes at your price point (23k) if you're prepared to be patient, or to travel to pick it up.

Appreciate the replies. AZ seems like a chill community but I want to make sure I get the right car at the right price. I'll be replacing a 98 Maxima and plan to hold onto a TL-S for awhile. Hard to be patient after such a nice test drive.

I used galves.com to get an idea of what the dealer could have/would have paid for the car (20,800). I'm not sure how accurate the site may be, but I know some people who have made away with great deals by using it as a baseline, then factoring the dealer has to make some profit.

Does it get hot where you live? I bought mine in January and we just had our first warm day of the year (86F). Once the car was heat-soaked, I felt like I was down 100hp. As of now, Acura seems to be ignoring the issue

I recently bought my ASM type-s in LA for $24,300. It only had 23k miles on it when I got it and it was in damn near perfect shape except for a little rim rash and a couple marks on the front bumper.

Thought this would be a good comparison for you, keep in mind that you are gonna have to pay up if you want one with low miles.

Its a good amount of dough to paint the hood. I would wait for a better deal. There are a ton of low mileage auto TL type S's.
Look at this one...certified to 100k and cheaper than what you have. You will need to travel a bit
