Possible tranny issue: Take it to Acura dealer or Used car dealer?
Hello All,
I recently bought an 07 TL-S that seemed to be in great shape. I bought it from an Infiniti dealer. The car has about 3000 miles left on the factory warranty. It is an auto and the trans is slow to engage when going from Park to Drive. Also it seems to hesitate a little when taking off from a stop. Should I take it to the dealer I bought it from (I got it about 2 weeks ago) of deal with an Acura dealer? Thanks,

check the fluid level, per the book method only-- or it will read incorrectly
The trans should NEVER be low on fluid or there is a leak! it doesnt just disappear~
BETWEEN the dots when checked is what you want

smell trans fluid on dipstick- should never smell burnt or you have a major trans problem
pinkish red- its doing its job
brown- its done its job too long!!
for the OP - take the car to the acura dealer and meet the service MANAGER
ask if the head tech/trans tech can take a quick spin with you to see if the trans is normal
Explain you just bought the car and dont know exactly what it should be doing if ok
Take a box of ice cream sandwiches/popsicle bars or donuts as a goodwill offering,
that gets you tons of goodwill back,,,
far better than dropping it off for `diagnosis` and being charged 100$ to be told its all ok
You need to run the VIN to be sure all recalls are taken care of- call 1-800-382-2238x5 thats acura customer service and can help you- plus they need your address for any future recall notices, they go by snail mail
the dealer can run the vin for recalls- thats a great reason to go meet the staff and see about the trans
