1) New milled folding key opposed to 1980's style key.
2) "One touch starting" feature.

Would you really need to swap the ignition to enjoy the new 2007 key?

I don't think you can do it. The key pattern looks completely different from the ones we have and the one start feature is not in the fob, its in the ignition system itself.

I could care less to have the one start thing but would love to have the key and fob in one.

you need to think about saving money rather than blowing it for something as stupid like a new key for a brand new car. get real.

damn, you people are harsh.

he was just asking if its possible. he was probably just asking if you can purchase the key and match it with the current system.

is it possible to use the new key? it is, but its gonab real expensive, you are going to have to change the whole ignition system to get the one start feature. the key is completely different.

'its gona hurt your wallet.' thats all you guys have to say, no need to call him a dumbass.

I wouldn't want it. A friend of mine is a tech at Land Rover, Jaguar and he absolutely hates those "flip" style keys. He say's they f*ck up all the time. I'm fine with the old fashion version. It is a pain in the ass to carry around though. But hey, thats why I have a man-purse !

I'd rather convert over to the RL fob, no key just driver recognition.

My VW flip key was indestructible. It was dropped, mashed, went down a couple fo flights of stairs... even survived the washing machine.

I think your quote is more a testament to "Land Rover" quality

I'd much rather have the folding key, strictly for the milling. My $350 A-spec steering wheel has a nice little gash from the sharp ass stock key that i carelessly swiped across it when exiting the vehicle...

A 2007 key retrofit would require new locks in the ignition, glovebox, and door, assuming the radio electronics would still work. The key is a comletely different style. I would venture to guess nearly $1000 to convert.

If money's no object, than you're probably looking at a mint as posted. What about a remote start add-on?
