PLEASE LIST major/minor PROBLEMS WITH 2005 TL
PLEASE LIST PROBLEMS WITH 2005, I am kinda oblivious to some problems unless I go look from them, especially coming from a POS 1996 Accord LX that makes so many different noises and sounds that my TL sounds like nothing. So would people be kind enough to list their problems with TL so that I can look to see if I should take my car in. So far, I have slight steering wheel to left, which is not that big of a problem, my front bumper seems a bit loose, which also isn't a big problem and lastly, some vibration issues, but I just think it's because I'm driving a manual and it's right before I'm about to stall or something...so...
To reiterate, only for 2005 TL's:
1.) transmission (manual or auto)
2.) list all problems with the car
Thanks.
sorry if

If it isn't bothering you, it isn't a problem. Why would you go out of your way to find something wrong with the car? Enjoy it instead of trying to find every imperfection.
In any case, you should be able to search and find many user's reviews and trouble spots they have.

Looking for problems is only going to make things worse... If you don't notice it, good. Why worry about it? You'll end up like overly sensitive like a good part of this forum. Hell, they have me hating the stock tires and I haven't even taken shipment yet.
I'm not specifically trying to find problems, but I'm just thinking...what could be the problems that I am overlooking cause I went from such a shitty car to the TL...and whoever fucking gave me the "disapproved" thing on this thread.. - "you shit head"
Calm down, terse, and let's try and keep this thread civil.
I agree with the other posters who said you shouldn't look for problems that aren't there. Also, there has been so much information posted in this forum about problems, real or fancified, that all you have to do is look a little, so asking people to post a list of their major/minor problems, when it has already been done, just shows you are too lazy to take the effort to find out for yourself.
The main thing is, just enjoy the car and don't look for problems, but if any pop up either look here for answers or take it in to the dealer.

I've got nearly 4k on mine, and have yet to have an issue of any kind. I think I may be experiencing a slight pull to the left, but it is much less than my truck, so I am thinking it might be the curvature of the roads here ... I am always in the left lane.
With regards to knowing what to look for, I would stick to the rule of thumb: If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!
I had a Jeep where I thought the headliner sagged a little at the center where it met the windshield. It was my first new car and I was anal about everything. I had the dealership replace it, and it got worse. Everytime I got in the car, I would think of it, and it took a little away from the ownership experience.
I have now decided that I don't want the dealership to touch my car unless there really is a substantial problem.
So ... if I were you, terse, I'd be asking myself if I wanted to risk the dealer really screwing something up trying to fix a problem that you didn't even notice yourself.

sorry, the thing is, it's not cool when you're just trying to find out a simple question and people blasting you for such a simple question. It's not like it's listed specifically for problems with the 05's. Most threads are integrated with problems with 04's and the comparisons b/t them.
Also, I want to reassure everyone that I am very satisfied with my car - i love it, but if I had come from a Beamer, Benz or some other luxury car, i would easily notice if my TL had any problems comparing it to them, but coming from a 96 Accord LX used, being the 4th owner, and when traveling at 90mph and feeling every bump and every type of vibration ever felt then going to an Acura TL, the TL seems like the smoothest ride and feels as if you're driving in the clouds...so my thread was to see if i was overlooking something that is a problem for everyone else, when to me, it's so minor (but could eventually be a bigger problem).
also, if you gonna give me a disapprove, might as well say who you are...
thanks to those of you who gave me the "approve"

Rattlephobia
Having read this forum for several months now, I fearfully purchased an 05 TL, knowing full well the the rattle issue would be quite disturbing, based upon the frequency of postings. Well, I have had my TL for over a month now, 800 miles, and I still have not discovered any rattles. Believe me, I listen; I turn down the radio and spend minutes attempting to detect the undetectable. This forum has programmed me to be vigilant in my unending search for RATTLES!!!!
Should I be disappointed that my silent TL refuses to validate the postings? Although this forum serves a useful purpose, it is quite dangerous as it encourages the readers to look for what is not there, Chief Inspector Clouseau (sp?).

Well said dano806. I have also been driving with the radio off half of the time. This is a GREAT FORUM, and I consider it to be the best "tool" I have for my TL. I just wish I could get over the parinoya that it's instilled into me.
05,AT,Nav, and no problems to report thus far. (approx 2,300 miles give or take)

You make a good point, and perhaps I should clarify that I mean:,
If YOU don't notice a COSMETIC issue that others may have reported, then it is not a problem for YOU.
I write engine control software for a living, and I hope that if there were safety problems with the car (failing brake system, chronic overheating, etc) that the onboard systems would detect them and set a fault to alert the driver that service is needed no matter how inexperienced they may be.
You might also check out the summary list for 2004 TLs in this thread-- many were fixed, but there is likely to be some overlap. There is a summary in one of the pages towards the end.

Fan Belt Broke within 300 miles
New to this community, but I have been reading messages for over a year. Got my brand new Acura TL 2005 last Friday. I can't say how excited I was getting this car.
Get in the car today to drive over a friends home and I can't steer the car. My battery light goes on and I start hearing noices from the engine....I make it home look under the car and there is my broken fan belt.
Needless to say, I am extremely upset. I waiting for the dealer to pick up the car now.
Has anyone else had a similar problem???
PS I have less than 300 miles on this car.

Now if you had said 500 miles, you would get a flood of replies.

Sorry to hear that, though, on a new car, but this happens sometimes. It shouldn't, but it does.
I would be upset too but acura does not make the belts, hoses, batteries or tires however they should have been well tested before shipment to the dealers in their QC procedure that seems to be non existant these days with them. Good luck though
No Rattle
The only thing that rattles in my 02-Tl was the middle armrest - when it is extended and when I go over uneven road service it will rattle. On my 05-TL, the arm rest is tight as a drum. So far can't find any rattle at all in 750 miles.
I have an 05 AM. 2 months old, 2700 miles. I have rattles and squeeks in the left side of th edash, centor console, and glove box/right side of the dash. I'm taking the car in this week. But I have to say I am slightly disappointed. It's still a great car though.
