Please help with back turn signal

I love TL so much that I want to return to Europe (in 8 months) with 2005 TL. Unfortunately, there is a law out there which does not allowed to use red turn signal. Please, advise me how to make it look more amber. Thanks

The whole housing is red, so my guess is that you might have to customize the whole tail lamp housing which isn't easy. If there was an aftermarket ones, it might have been a lot easier.
Good luck with it anyway.

I think there's a law over there too that requires turn signals on the side mirrors and/or the front fender markers.

Seen a recent MB, BMW, VW, SAAB, VOLVO, JAG, without them ?

I Know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should rewire the reverse lights to allow a dual filament bulb. There are companies that make 1157 bulbs that have two different color LEDs. SO.........

when you put the car in reverse the bulb will light up with the clear whit LEDs

when you put on the Hazards or use your turn signal the bulb will flash the amber LEDs

This way you won't have to modify your lenses and use the clear reverse lenses

Sounds crazy, but it might work

Very clever solution. To simplify, I'd just swap the turn signal into the reverse light housing and use an amber bub. I'd put the reverse bulb into the turn signal housing and if you're being picky, use a higher wattage bulb to offset the reverse lights being in a red housing.

Contact Honda/Acura. Many cars have export parts/versions. The Corvette has for many years had special amber lenses for its dual round tail lights, and even the license plate mounting space can be had in the skinny Euro plates..

Question European Law...?

I was wondering how Bernard1973 replaced them... Are you still here??? Did you also convert your red turning signals to the yellow ones???

Thanks...

Can someone do a photochop of a TL with amber turn signal lights? I have found this uniquely American obsession with red turn lights distressing and is a feature I miss from my 2G TL. I think it'd be interesting to do this modification.

How would the drivers to the side of you see that you want to turn into their lane without being semi directly behind you?

Ask Rockblocker. Maybe he can make some colored tail light film for you, kind of like the smoked ones that I just put on.

Actually he has yellow colored film for the headlights. Have him cut it into the shape of the tail turn signal. I don't see why you can't put those on the back turn signals and make it orange? won't be a true amber color, but much easier than the re-wiring of the reverse light and stuff.

You could probably request special permission, not sure if it would be granted though. Or take your chances.

it cannot be done half ass.

i sent many cars to Europe in the past and the back up light solution is very common. then, an external back up light is mounted in or below the bumper (so is a red fog light which is also required in most European countries)

old tread by the way.

Sounds like there is no easy way to make it one piece and as "beautiful" as possible.
