Plastic on Window

This afternoon i was cleaning my car window when i noticed that there's a small plastic wrapper coming in from the inside of the door pannel, going up together with the window. It seems that it's stuck somewhere inside the door panel. I tried to pull it but it seems stuck and start to stretch.. (think of those thick wrappers)...

I kept on pulling it until most of it stretches to the limit and got cut off, but I know that there's still some inside... Anyone else notice the same thing? Will it ruin my tint when i get a tint? Would moleskin protect my tint from this?

The reason I washed my window is that I left my car in front of my friend's garage and it got sprayed all over by the sprinkler. I also notice that there's hard water stain on the body but I don't really have the luxury of time to wash it all off.

What's the easiest way to clean hardwater stain on the body?
How soon should I wash it before it gets stuck there and get really hard to take off?
How to get a softwater to wash the car so that there's not stain? (I have not washed my car at all since it left the dealership 2 weeks ago since it has been raining on the past 2 weekends. I used to send my car to the handwash place but would like to put some personal attention to my TL)

Did you mean this?

If so, my car is the same, the left and right have the same issue. Meanwhile, for this matter, they are one of the rattle sources on my car. In my case, I can never keeping pulling it out or pushing it in. Once I hear the noise/rattle, I have to "trim" it (top/middle/bottom) so the rattle/noise will stop.

Well, I call it "rattle of driver's vanity mirror cover".

I may ask my dealer to change something over that triangle area and make this rattle stop.

Obviously, I'm talking something else...

It's not a rattle, and I can't see the plastic that is on your pic... In my case it's coming from inside where the window comes up from and the plastic is more of a wrapper kind... something similar to the seat cover on a new car before prepped by the dealer....

I have the same thing. My friend noticed first when she was in my car. She started to peel it off, and it came off without any problem. No big deal though. Out of sight...out of mind.

So what not shoot some pics for us? I got those while in traffic this morning, by my SEK700i.

After I pulled it and pulled it, I peeled most of it and I can't see it anymore... But i know the other end is still somewhere inside... Not knowing what it is and what it is for makes me nervous... I'll try to see if I can pull some of it and take picture later on today after work...

Don't worry it's just a plastic protection that the Prep guy didn't take off

If you are afraid to take it off by yourself, ask the dealer to finish his job.

That plastic is factory prep protection. I had my dealer remove the extra tidbits and when they did they wound up having to replace both rear door panel because they goofed and fingernailed through the material up near window.

As for hard water spots, a vinegar-water solution dissolves those deposits. I follow with a chamois dry and they a spritz wax.
