It can look decent but I honestly dont like the MATTE black. Would look much better with a vinyl gloss black grill. You can try black plus glossifier but its not the same.

Comparo on my ilx. I took it off because I thought it looked cheap in my opinion.
Only like 8 bucks a can from home depot. Grab one and if you dont like it pressure wash it off.

Fixed that for you.

Plasti-dip is ridiculously easy to put on and take off, if you don't like it, it's not the end of the world. it's reversible completely.

Just make sure to lay it on thick! Multiple coats ensure that it comes off easy and in one piece. Light coatings are more easily damaged and don't like to come off easy.

Yes I understand. I have plastidipped my wheels first tan, tore that off, then white. I have done my grill twice now and neither time could I take all the plastidip that got in the cracks up under the grill/hood out. ^ coats or more each time.

Also, it is HELL to get the plastidip out of lug nut holes. A pressure washer gets it all out much easier. All im saying.

When you remove the plastidip from the rim take the tire off the car so the lug nut area doesnt rip. You should also dip them off the car so enough plastidip gets in that area. getting plastidip off of the lug nuts themselves, will make you go crazy.

I took the wheels off to plastidip them.
I took the lugs out to get the inside area and I even made sure to over spray in the lug nut holes knowing it wouldn't cover in there as evenly.

The problem is it just wont peel off perfectly in areas like that. It was super easy to peel it off my grill and face of the wheels. But there was a ton of plastidip left over in the lug nuts holes and not being able to get two fingers in there made me have to just get a get a brush and scrub at it. Really simply to get off at that point.

But a pressure washer will get it off without even trying.

Im in no way saying plastidip is difficult to take off. Very easy. Just saying I meant it when I said pressure washer. Peeling it off is easy but Id prefer a pressure washer.

I'll eventually wrap mine in gloss black vinyl but my grill has held up just fine with PD.

Use any color PD, coat it thoroughly and spray light coats of auto paint over it. I sprayed my emblems, grille and wheels in grey PD and did black auto paint on top, leaving the grille grey. Just take your time during prep. I used notecards for the edges and ran a thin blade around everything during removal.

If you like it you can always go to a permanent solution with paint. If you're not sure you can always peel it off.

Ive even seen people paint over the plasti dipp.

I would try it it's $5. I personally would just do the light grey part inside the V, simply bc our car is Blk and I feel the whole front gets lost when dipped/wrapped Blk. Just speaking from experience.

I have a WDP 08, dipped my grill soon after buying the car in 01/12 and it still looks great. Plastidip does make a gloss over spray if you want it shiny. +1 to the guys that say multiple light coats...4 or 5 at least and it peels off super easy!
