Pics of my wrecked TL :-(

I didn't want to put these in the gallery because they are not pretty.

Pictures are self explanatory...

Still waiting to hear back from insurance and for the accident report.

I got red X's.....if that's all that's left of your TL then that's a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD wreck.

Nah, I feel for you man....it sucks to wreck a sweet ride - whether it's your fault or not.

Ya. I have another post in here with details. Someone pulled out into me...I dislocated my shoulder. My front bags deployed...the side bags did not.

I don't really know how fast I was going, but it was the impact with the square curb that broke the wheel. After the other car hit me, my car swerved to the right and jumped the curb.

Would anybody out there want this car back if they had it repaired???

Well, I had $13,500 in damage to a one year-old GS-T Eclipse and it was all front-end damage and the thing drove like new when I got it back. Thus, I would have no problems if they elected to repair your TL.

Oh gawd, I think I might be sick. That second to last pic is horrible.

But on a side note, I think this might be the first non-antharcite TL I've seen wrecked.

May your WDP TL be on the way to a speedy and complete recovery. I'm going to go hug mine now. It's too painful to see that damage. But like everyone else says, the car is replacable...you're not. Hope your shoulder is OK. You may want to seek the treatment and advice of a physician should you have future problems with that extremity. Please keep us all updated.

I feel for you, and like everyone else, hope everything works out. The car can be fixed (hopefully), but that shoulder has gotta mend also. I think that would be first and foremost.

And Gadget, I had the same thought!

I didn't see anyone else respond but if it were my car I would sell it as soon as it was put back together. I have never had one that was that badly smacked that was completely right after it was repaired. :'( Looks like some serious twisting around the drive shaft on that side. Sorry for your loss and glad you weren't seriously injured.

The yellow stuff is grease where the right driveshaft pulled out of the transmission.

Doc said my shoulder was OK...good news there.

The car is still a mystery. I don't feel comfortable accepting that car back knowing that it could have internal damage...and if I took it and sold it I wouldn't get jack for it...CARFAX would see to that. Who is going to want to buy a fixed/near totalled TL?

This sux almost as bad as the buick century rental car.

Photo,
I feel your pain. It looks bad but if you said the roof is buckled I think you will be ok. The main thin is if the front engine bay is bent then it should deifinitly be a total. keep us posted

So I get the number of the Dept of Safety where the accident report is and they say it isn't ready yet. It has almost been one week. WTF...just dragging it out. Glad I called. They said it may be done in the next few days. My agent said she thought it would take several weeks based on the agency they use to obtain the reports.

It just keeps getting worse. There are so many ways I can get screwed here. Hopefully I don't...so damn frustrating.

That front CV joint with the grease puking out is pretty ghastly. Glad you are OK, if a bit sore.

Cars can be fixed or replaced easily enough. Try not to worry about that. Glad to hear you are OK. That's what's important.

Thanks. Ya, I know it could have been much worse. I'm still wondering about the airbag deployment. The front right corner of my car hit the front left of her car. Only the front airbags came out. The side airbag would have been nice since it may have kept me from bouncing off the door and dislocating my shoulder. If the impact was bad enough for the fronts, I wonder why all the bags don't just deploy?

This all pretty much sucks. Posting on here is good therapy...

Something you need to think about is that even if repaired "perfectly" your car will be worth less at trade-in time because it has been wrecked. This is not advertised, but your insurance company should pay you something called "Diminished Value" to make up for the difference between what it would have been worth and what's it's worth after being wrecked.

You will probably have to ask for it, and it's possible your insurer doesn't pay it (or your state doesn't require it). I trashed a BMW a few years ago and after State Farm paid for my repairs they gave me another check for $5500. for diminished value.

Alabama definitely does have that. What was the before-wreck value of your BMW? I'm trying to get an idea of how much I should expect. But I will probably just get a lawyer to force the total...I do not want it back. Too much damage to drivetrain/suspension/unibody. It'll never be right...soooo irritating.

The initial estimate (done by an independant guy, not the shop) was $11,000. That is probably low and it does not include the devaluation payment. Now we'll dig deeper and see what all is messed up that he missed. I'm guessing $3-5k more and then the additional devaluation increase.

Should be close to a total loss. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ouch...that's a little car too.

I got in touch with a rebuilder that specializes in higher end cars...he's gonna give it a look. I hope I can work something out quickly. I really miss the car...and I think my wife is pretty bummed too as it was her car. I feel like I ran over my dog/cat...
