Philips Night-Guide DRL... summary-sort of.
So, Philips advertised these "Night Guides" as one of the most advanced halogen bulb they made and uses a unique tri-color-beam. It suposedly has a yellow light on the left, white in the center and blue on the right--which all three can be distinctively seen in the headlamps.
Thinking these were good bulbs... I purchased them from a local Napa after having them order a pair for me to see for myself if they were an improvement from having Yellow Eurolites installed.
After a few minutes of installing them.... I took a look. They seem to have the same yellow-look as stock 9005 DRLs.. just brighter in certain angles [which I noticed in direct sunlight].
When it finally got dark.. I began driving without my lowbeams to test out these new Philips.
First impression.... they suck! It seemed as if they had the same level of brightness as my 9005 Yellow Eurolites [which give a very sexy yellow look].
So I kept driving and took the inner roads where there were less cars and less street-lights. Upon inspection, the bulbs seem to shoot further than the stock bulbs and my Yellow Eurolites. After more inspecting... some road signs were more visible.
When I parked the car, I noticed that the lights themselves don't seem very bright at night as advertised in the pictures provided by Philips [on their site and on the package]. When I exitted the car I noticed a brighter light output on the ground than that provided with the other bulbs I used before.
Although the name states 'Night-Guide' these are in no means good for night-driving---but I guess I shouldn't have expected too much considering it's my DRL.
I previously had 9005 Yellow Eurolites installed on the TL... and it provided me with a nice yellow look. It was brighter than the stock bulbs, no doubt, but I think these Philips are even brighter than the Eurolites... just a lot less yellow.
Overall opinions to those looking for better DRLs[or fogs for the american TLs]... don't get the Philips. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Also the DRL are using 50% (don't know exactly) wattage. So the bulbs aren't fully powered up to give you the full light output. But as far as Philips halogen bulbs, they never really make the superwhite bulbs like the other companies like Piaas, Polargs and Nokya.
Come on man, you know that DRLs are not used to see anything with. They are gauged on how visible your car will be to other drivers. Go with yellows. I used to have them on my car and I like to be different than 99% of the TLs. My friends could always spot my car a mile away. I have LEDs now and it's another good option for HID match.
This tri-color thing sounds interesting, never heard of it, I wanna research this.

Yeah I'm aware that DRLs aren't meant for seeing.. and that they use less percentage wattage.
But I thought I'd give these lights a try... and they actually allowed me to see more things over the stock DRLs.
I was hoping to also, in the near future, eliminate my DRLs and have them operate as inner fogs. I just.. don't know how. =]
