Why don't you state why there were hard to get, was it snowing, was the DMV closed?

Also, what does, "I really don't want to put them on mean" did they not turn out right? are you not ready to give up the look of the new paper plates.

I have vague threads like this

Maybe the numbers are not good?

I thought it's always easy to apply for the custom plate if your lucky letters & numbers are still available...

I have MAXPWR on my Maxima right now. They are $70/yr and took me almost 6 months to get them made. I've had them for 3-4 years now.

Looks like I will have to come up with something else for the TL :lol2:

simple. I just got mine personalized...
i have done it twice and I love it so much.....
go to https://vrir.dmv.ca.gov/ipp/PerLicensePlateServlet
so far, I have the regular reflective and the coastal. I use Coastal to my Tl cauz' it blends the color with my TL. So sweet...

once you order online, you will need to wait about 6 weeks. Then go to your DMV location and bring your issued plate (orginal) and registration card with you. then everything will be set.

Why would you post a question like this in the forum when, since you live in California and probably have access to a telephone, it would be easier to call the DMV and get correct, up-to-date information directly from the people who know what they are talking about, rather than solicit information here, although there could be a few people who got theirs and could give you some information but it would really be applicable to them and might not apply to you since they might use a differrent office of the DMV and since I am not trying for the longest one-sentence thread in history I will end here.

What would your choices be?

Anybody else get personalized plates they would like to share with us. Maybe we could adopt or get some ideas from the good ones, especially if we live in a different state.

Try going to the DMV website. I too want a personalized plate and I think it is around $70 for California also but there are other ones which depend on the background. Also I think your registration fee will be a little higher. Not sure though but that's what I got out of it while I was skimming through California DMV website. The forms are also there.

BECAUSE:
1) I trust 99% of the people here in these forums. Sad to say you just included yourself in the 1%
2) This is what the forums are for. To ask questions so that you can get REAL WORLD answers.
and lastly...
3) I wasn't expecting to get an answer from someone like you who i think is trying out for the longest one-sentence REPLY in history.

w1n78 & zima76....your REPLIES are greatly appreciated....

yeah i think i'm just going to go for the regular style since my car is white. looks cleaner that way!

BTW, what do you have on your plates?

I don't want to brag too much and get my car keyed so i might just go simple and put my name and my fiance's name in it combined.......i know the letters & numbers combo are limited but i already have a combo that we both agreed on....

Ended going with..............................stupid stock plate...I wasn't really thrilled with anything that was not already taken, and I agreed with some of the negatives of having a personal plate. Still in limbo though, if something fantastic comes along, why not?

If you live in Cerritos, try to get all 4's 4444444
or 4atudoor (opps--that's too long).

4 sounds very close to DEATH in Chinese--they don't like the #4.

They avoid it like we avoid the 13th floor.

Your registration in the window is valid for six months, even if you get the plates within 3 months. I buy a new car every 8 months, I've never had plates on any of my cars

Are you sure about that? On my California Temporary Car Registration slip, the back of that little slip says it's only valid for 90 days (which makes sense since the plates take anywhere from 45-90 days to get to you).

I ordered personalized plates too (still waiting for them) I used mine and my wifes intials, since there very close.

I once saw that on a S500 and I thought it looked cool and classy.

The plate I saw that I hated the most was: DFYANT, what a joke!
