Peeling Paint?!

I washed my car yesterday and found this as I was drying it:

If I gently rub this blemish, more paint comes off. It's just not adhering very well. I just got off the phone with the dealer so I have an appointment to take it in on Monday. They'll send it to the body shop as I insisted this is not something a little touch-up pen is going to fix. The gal I spoke with, while nice on the phone, wasn't sure if this would be covered by the warranty. I told her it will be covered by warranty, so I'm hoping Monday won't involve any drama. They're going to fix my rattles while it's there, too.

Looks like it took a hit=the painted body flexed and the paint didn't.

I found a paint bubble on the passenger side door that I'm taking into the dealer next week. They told me it was probably due to a scrath but its not...about the size of a dime without any marks, just the paint rising up from the metal. Hopefully they take care of it.

Update: My car is at the dealership today getting this fixed. It turns out they had painted it before I bought it because the front bumper had taken a slight hit. I wasn't pleased to learn this, but everything should be fine in a couple of days.

As a special treat, they're letting me drive a Buick Lacrosse as a loaner. What a turd! I was sailing rough seas all the way in to work this morning. I think I'll pop some Dramamine before driving home tonight.

Wow, surprised to hear that they're honest (foolish?) enough to tell you that your "new" car was in an accident, and sold to you without disclosing that info.

I always thought that was illegal, but I guess this is no big deal... hope the paint matches well.

Have fun driving the boat!

Just to be clear on that, I bought the car with 8k miles on it as a "Certified Pre-Owned" car. Nonetheless, I am disappointed they didn't disclose the repainted front bumper when I asked, "Has it ever been hit or needed bodywork?" when it was repainted in their shop.

Thats not fun...I believe they are required by law to tell you that...especially certified pre-owned...THe whole point of buying certified to my understanding is that you dont have to worry about checking the cars background...maybe its just me but I wouldnt ahve taken it this lightly(who knows what kind of accident it was in??) Good luck tho man
