PDA and Bluetooth

I need (again) a new PDA. Are there any advantages with a Bluetooth PDA with our TL's?

I would really like to get a phone with a PDA built in that has bluetooth. Which phones has both? Actually I would even just like to see a list of available phones with bluetooth that works with the TL.

The Handspring Treo 600 allows a bluetooth card to be added.

Here is the link;

http://www.acura.com/models/model_co...asp?module=tl#

Click on "Handfree Link Click Here" and then "Phone Compatibility" to get the list of all compatible phones.

Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, as I had figured, I really don't like any of the phones available. Atleast not enough to get rid of my $300 phone and switch. In the Nokia sight they have the 6820 which I like but it's not available here.

I believe they update periodically, but we don't know how often they are doing so. In Oct., it's only having 3 models.

All the phone needs is Bluetooth and a handsfree profile. Most Bluetooth phones have this, and almost all the ones coming out will support the TL, it's not a matter of the TL supporting the phone.

No, a Bluetooth enabled PDA will not interface with the TL at all.

You cant use the Hands Free Link with the Treo w/ a Bluetooth attachment card. It can only send/recieve data. It wont let you talk on the phone. Im HOPING this new rumored Treo 610, is for real. Its supposed to have Built in BT in which case you can use it w/ the HFL profile. But Its only rumoured right now.

Taking a risk at sounding like an idiot, but what is GSM?

Not at all, it's a type of mobile phone network. There's TDMA (Verizon), CDMA (Sprint), and GSM (Cingular). GSM Stands for Global System for Mobile communication, it's practically the worldwide standard.

Verizon & Sprint: CDMA
Cingular & AT&T: TDMA
Cingular & T-Mobile & AT&T: GSM

I have had awful time with my Cingular S56 reception at home and when traveling. The GSM network must be in infancy and not complete. the phone works great in the city but get out and the nationwide plan is useless. In fact I turned the phone in during the 15 day trial. Now I will wait for one that works where I go.
I miss the hands free way of life.

What about the new blackberries that have phones built in, presumably with GSM technology. Mine is the new blue one, model 7310, with t-mobile service.

I believe a PDA running Windows Mobile 2003 can since it has the profiles. Only problem is there aren't any PDA phones out with it yet.

The Samsung i700 from Verizon is supposed to get this upgrade by the 2nd Qtr. I'm especially interested in this because I have one!
