Passenger side High and Low beams stopped working
Passenger side High and Low beams stopped working
Hello friends. My 2006 TL is still performing like a champ. Just over 100k miles. Drives like a dream.
My passenger headlight went out. What's strange is both the high and low went out. The Driver side is working for both.
I think it's unlikely that both bulbs blew at once.
I'm not handy or mechanically inclined. I can change the fuses under the steering column. But are there separate fuses for L and R headlamps? Are there separate fuses for high and low? Is there something else I should look at?
Any guidance will be really appreciated.

that's because the TL only has one bulb that operates both High and low! there's a solenoid that operates inside the headlight that switches a flap to let more light out for the high beam.
I would swap bulbs with the drivers side to the passenger side to make sure it is a blown bulb. when you switch the drivers side to passenger side and it operates, you most likely have a bad bulb.
I would buy bulbs in pairs! replace both driver and passenger side if indeed it is a bad bulb

I wouldnt replace, right away. I would test by using the driver;s side bulb in the passenger headlight...this will ENSURE that it is indeed a bad bulb.
Because it would suck for you to spend $100 or more to find out that it wasnt a bulb problem
