Painted Calipers

I want to paint my calipers but not sure what color suits the car best.

Here's a pic:

Painted Calipers-opa4s.jpg

I was thinking blue. (no black please).

Red is kind of the standard. Do you want them to stand out? I would think yes, which is th eonly reason to paint them. A bright blue would be nice.. maybe find some poster paper and cut out some pieces in the caliper shape to see how it looks?

Don't do ricer red. It only looks good on BBK on real sports cars. Blue might look good on your car, or even gold.

Perhaps black or even silver may be nice.

I wouldn't accent our tiny calipers. If you have something worthy of showing off perhaps a BBK then i'd say go for it. So with the way they stand now, I'd say black.

I did red on mine and it looked ok for awhile, but it will be a maintenance issue if you want to keep them looking good. I would not do it over if I new it would require the upkeep that it does. This is the only mod that I have done that in the long run I was not satisfied with.

I agree with most people here. Black FTW. Especially with your car color.

yellow

i think black is the best thing to do for the non brembo calipers.

quite frankly, i wouldnt want those ugly calipers to stand out and i think it looks really bad when those calipers stand out

not with the base calipers. if u have a bbk or brembos(with 04-06 6spd or 07-08 type-s) then it would be worth it

To each his (or her) own, of course. However, if you are talking about painting the base-version of the calipers you have to deal with their shape and black hides the fact that you have BIG open spaces where all you see is the pad shim.

I agree. Black would look the best.

But I just don't get how some people can say red is rice, but then suggest blue or gold?

I know you dont wanna hear it again...but BLACK is the way to go - especially on stock calipers. You may think that black is plain, but it is a classy and clean look.

OP:
It seems like you really want a flashy color and are hoping that people here will agree with you. For the most part, that doesn't seem to be happening. Just paint them whatever color you want. What's the worst that can happen? If you don't like it, just paint them a different color. If you do like it, you can post pictures here and tell everyone to suck it.

Personally, I agree with most of the others: stock calipers = black.
For me, flashy colors are to show off your brakes (ie: Brembos or BBK). I really don't feel it necessary to show off the rather ugly stock brakes.

I know what you mean. Cars that have a BBK can pull off a numerous amount of colors. But on a stock caliper, blue or gold? I think that's more rice then red.
