overhead handle and sun visor

Tried searching the forums, but couldn't find anything related to this topic.

I'm 6'4" and when I have my sun visor against the driver's side window, the overhead handle causes the visor to be right next to my head. Has anyone removed the handle for this reason or is there an easier solution?

Drive your avatar instead - plenty of head-room and better turn radius..... JK!!

Are you thinking that removing the handle would allow the visor to be out of the way for you? You could always fabricate some nice "plugs" to cover the handle holes yet be removed and replaced with the handle assembly if sold etc..

The zero turn makes for a pretty cold commute this time of year.

That's exactly what I was thinking, and I was going down the path of removing the handle and finding some plugs that match the interior to give it a somewhat finished look.

Hoping someone could provide instructions on how to remove the handle and insights on what is left after you remove it (ie. is it just two screw holes that I could cover with plugs or is it something else)?

The scan for removing the handle, page 20-71, is in this thread, along with some other scans that might be useful. It also gives a fair picture of what it looks like under the handle.
