I donn't believe it. The Acura pen that came with my car stopped working! It looks like the ink is dry. Why would Acura make an expensive pen and then fill it with cheap ink?

Has anyone else had this problem?
Do the lemon laws cover pens?

How did you get a pen! Covered under warranty?

 

If that happened to me I would take the the car back and demand a full refund or new car. I have never heard of such a thing. If they can't build a pen right, how can they build a car right. I am really hacked off about this.:bigun2:

Mine is fine. Still working in this cold weather.

 

My pen is fine, too, but the ball flatspots overnight and it writes rough for the first few paragraphs that I use it.

Mine didn't come with one. The old pen was transferred from my prior TL. It doesn't work anyway.

What a total fraud!!!! Class action lawsuit now!!!!

 

I contacted Acura and asked when a TSB will be issued for the pens.

Mine stoped working about 2 weeks after I bought my 03. I felt silly calling and complaining though.

The pen was in the black zipper case with the owners manual and quick start guide. There was also an Acura Key chain fob!

PS: And I was worried someone might take my original post seriously.

My TL book was empty NO PEN !!! No I was suppose to get a pen ? OH Man , I feel so slighted...

 

Mine was mailed to me a couple of weeks after sending in the dealer rating. It wasn't in the package with the manuals.

Well whats up with Acura - my 04 pen is exactly the same as my 03 TL pen - no new technology in the new pen??

 

You didn't get the 04 pen then.

It's really cool - it's Bluetooth enabled. You just have to hold it within 30 feet of a sheet of paper, think your thoughts, and it writes them down right on the page.

Then, for "playback," you click the button, and it plays back what you "wrote" in 5.1 different voices, at 500 times the resolution, sampled at 96K, 24 bit.

In the MID, you can set what color you'd like the pen to write in (Driver 1 or 2), and how long you'd like it to last (15 minutes, 30 days, 45 years).

The only problem is, it randomly loses your setting.




I can go on, but I think I'm better off stopping here (or two paragraphs ago).

 

My pen rattles.....but I fixed it with some adhesive fet. Also, it tends to forget who it belongs to at times as my wife picks it up....I think it has a memory problem also. However, my penmanship is still stable no matter how fast I take the turns.

 

i didnt get a pen. oh well. i am waiting for the new 2009 pens. i hear they gonna be electric and require no ink

What REALLY annoys me about my pen drying up is that I already had it clear coated and had installed a heavy duty spring.

 

1. 2004 TL doesn't come with the pen. They went cheap! My salesperson had an extra pen from 2003 model days and he put it in my folder.

2. Mine ran out of ink or the ink went dry couple weeks after I got my car. The replacement cartridges are standard for many brands of pens. Just stop by Staples or similar store...

 

Has anyone Zainoed their pen yet? If so, could you tell me what products to use?

Ha, ha, this has to be the most entertaining thread I've read to date. The 04 did not come with a pen, no pen holder in the leather pouch, no zipper this year either. Last year's came with a pen neatly tugged in a holder, a NAVI screen cleaning cloth & nice zippers so things don't fall out. As for the free magazine, are we talking about "Acura Style"? We have 4 Acura's in our family since 98' & I just got the Winter 04' issue, our first ever. It's got a nice article on the TL, by a writer for Motor Trend, learned a few things that I didn't know or not familiar with my car. Interested to know how many members did get the magazine? First time also? BTW, if any one didn't get & want a copy of the article, PM me with your email address & I'll send. The rest of magazine is not really car (or at least not TL) related.
