OnStar - letter from Acura says yes with Nav

I assume that this is an error, but the cover letter that accompanied my TL brochure (ordered brochure from web site - arrive today) says that OnStar is available with TL's that have NAV. Based upon following this forum, I assume that this is wrong and that there is no OnStar with the '04 TL.

I sales rep told me that the NAV version will have OnStar too. Obviously they've all screwed up.

BTW, anyone of the '03 NAV owners continued to pay for the OnStar service? IMO that's kind of useless especially if you have your own cell phone.

If you are in an accident and incapacitated or you are out of cell phone range, your cell phone will be useless. Onstar will call you if your air bags deploy. If you don't answer they will call the local 911 and advise them of your location. Also they can remotely unlock your vehicle if you lock yourself out. They can also track your car if it is stolen and provide the location to the police. In addition, you can call them whenever you are lost or have any sort of emergency. I have it on my wife's car and, for me, it's just an extra level of security.

I'll say it again.....there is no Onstar on my 2004. I'm not sure whether Acura plans to program it in later, but it's not there now. I'd use it to track my car it's cheaper than Lojack.

Ok I actually found that it is pretty easy to get an onstar mirror and antenna. It has harness at the end so there is something in needs to plug into. I believe that it goes in teh abck of teh radio, but there also adapters for if u change factory stereo. Anyone w/ any familiarity think it is possible to add onstar?

Another goof on behalf of Acura with this car aside from omitting the turn signals from the sideview mirrors. With all the electronic bells and whistles (Navi, XM, etc), OnStar should be at least available as an option.

The basic plan is the "Safe & Sound" plan for about $200/yr and it includes the things I mentioned earlier. They also have more expensive plans that include other features but I don't think they are safety related. If I remember correctly they are things like trip planning and Concierge service.
