Question One Touch Windows

One of the things in life that most frustrates me is that I can't find one single car that has one touch up/down window buttons for all its windows. I know the TL has one touch up/down buttons for the front windows...Is there a way I can get one touch up/down buttons for the rear windows?

Please say there is.

Does anyone know of a way to add this functionality to the 2004 TL? (i.e., the rear windows)

My Audi 2002 3.0 had one touch up/down on all windows.

Thats one of the ONLY features I miss of it! (okay, there were a few others...but the 04 tl still wins hands down!)

Just curious? Why is this such an important feature to you ....

Seems to me that you should be able to order a duplicate set of the motor / relay controls for the front windows and modify the rear window controls somehow.

I agree with RavenHwk...sounds like a lot of work to save yourself three seconds of holding the power window button down. I guess i could understand the driver's side being a big deal...digging for your parking card and hit the button and it auto goes down as you finally find your card....but the rest of the windows don't sound like that big of a deal to me.

To each their own i guess.

Its the principle. If something better is available, why not use it. If they have these buttons...why not install them on all windows? This just doesn't make any sense to me...how much more could they cost?

You can have a window module installed for your rear windows. That will make them 1 tpuch. You can have it installed at circuit city, best buy etc

That sounds like it would work, but just make a quick call to your service department, and ask one of the mechanics that does the electrical systems for his opinion.

maybe its programmable

In the car i have now, Audi S4, you can program the key fob to do the one touch up holding down the lock button.. maybe it is doable for the TL as well.

one of the first things i'll look into when i get into my TL in a few months.

its basically used to allow aftermarket alarms to control power windows. One of the other functions it provides is 1 touch up/down window control from the existing window control switch. I had a window module in my previous car on a compustar alarm (2001 acura CLS)

the above link shows an example of one.

They generally don't install them in the backseat windows for safety reasons. If you have kids back there, can't fully see them & one-touch up while an arm is out of the window...

Not entirely true. Like I said before I had this on my car before even tho it was a 2 door. This weekend I am having the same thing installed on my G/F 4 door Accord. As far as safety concerns... the system monitors the resistance on the circuit for the window motor. If it detects a jamb or too much resistance it reverses the direction of the glass or just stops all together. It all depends on the settings choosen. This is true with the Dei models..

Can I install this window module without doing an upgrade to the alarm system?

For some reason, Honda doesn't include these "little" things. Seems like all other high end cars do.

Another one touch that's missing if the sunroof...unless they included in the '04s. I like the Audi/VWs version. They have a knob with preset positions.:goldfish:

I agree totally on the design that is used by VW/Audi. I just turned in a Jetta and I loved that knob setup for the sunroof. I do think that the sunroof in the TL is one touch open and close. Can anyone confirm this?
