if you want a temporary solution while you look for a good deal on a new one...super glue it carefully and with a little touch up paint it'll be barely visible.

i did it to my car...cracked in the same place...on both sides.

our bumpers always crack there, that's their weak point.

seriously you could probably get the bumper back in line with some glue and touch up paint if you want.

Probably safer to get a new bumper, though.

 

Sucks you hit a raccoon... never fun to mess up your car. I hit a deer one night after the club. I think I made a post but I'm too lazy to search but here is a pic of the stupid deer

 

you're lucky you didn't hit it with a motorcycle...how bad was the damage to the car? the deer looks fine except for the fact that it's dead...

 

Yeah... it would suck if I hit the deer w/ my bike. The total damages was about $2,500 give or take a few hundred. I had a $1,000 deductible so that was one expensive night for me. Now I'm pissed, I had an awesome video of me kicking the deer but it's gone .

The body shop didn't even do a perfect job but I have a lifetime warranty.

I'm planning to go through insurance. $300 deductible and replace the bumper.

completely pointless...$300 deductibe..the bumper will cost you about 400-500 with some deal...no point in raising you insurance and it being in your record, even if not raising it, it is still a claim and insurance companies don't like clamis....pay out of picket, mabe find a bumper on the black market...mabe super glue it...insurance don't like claims...especially at your age.

point is make sure your insurance doesn't know...if it's not too late..serious.

I had a meet a few years ago with the bayareaprelude people. One of the guys told me how he and 4 of his friends had a late night run up the mountains in san jose, and while they were coming down the hill, they saw a deer. 4 of them dodged it, but the last one in the neon SRT-4 hit the deer straight on. The deer flew up then landed on his sunroof, broke the glass, and ended up in the seat next to him. He was traumatized. The cops came and saw the deer and broke out laughing

seriously after seeing that huge crack on your bumper, you must've hit that raccoon FULL speed!!

 

raccoons sometimes weigh upwords of 30 pounds....at 60mph, 30 pounds is an insane force...i'm suprised the damage is so light...basically because it got under the car, otherwise if it jumped before it got hit there would of been a lot more damage.
