I've never used the cassette deck in my CL-S. However, I can see how it would be useful for those that listen to books on tape, or use a cassette adapter for an MP3 player, both of which I have done in the past. I can't see why people complain about Acura including a cassette player. If they left it out, I suspect there would be even more people complaining about it not being included.
I do wish they had included a preamp level AUX input and/or the capability to play MP3 from CD-R or DVD+R discs though.

Get the Griffin iTrip. It broadcasts the iPod's output on an FM frequency, and it works great.
They have a large range of frequencies to choose from as well, so that no matter what town your in, you should be able to find a clean frequency to lock onto with the iTrip. It's about $35.00 
Then you get an iPod docking station and mount it in the car, and you're ready to go.
In this price range, you have a lot more "audiophiles" than Napster/Kazaa/Morpheus drop jockies. So I think Acura (financially,) made a good decision to go for the DTS and DVD-A rather than MP3. $0.02
