no heat on drivers side

Anyone else have this problem? No heat drivers side, blows cold air, plenty of heat passenger side. Goes in on Monday. Tech thinks it's electronic. I don't have the Nav.

With the "Dual-Zone" system both sides have independent "baffles/valves" that regulate hot/cold air flow mixtures. I believe you could compare this to your hot and cold water faucet.
Sounds like either a mechanical linkage controlling the baffles is "off", or the electronics that run the linkage are inop(drivers side). Someone else posted a while back about having no heat and his dealer found a linkage that was disconnected - sounded like a very easy fix.

Don't take this wrong, but could you have the dual zone activated and a cold temp set on the drivers side and a high heat on the passenger?? One of the guys on the Maxima forum had this same issue and that was his "oversight".

Best of luck, keep us posted - if it is mechanical or electrical I'm sure someone else will encounter it.

Take care and drive safe tonight all.

When I picked up my car. It had no heat going home. Brought it back the next day, the mechanic was practically buried under the hood. Found the cable going to heater door fell off.

Update:
Car went in today & they called to tell me they cannot figure out what is causing it and have no idea when it will be fixed. They have to call Acura Tech in California. I have only had the car a week, has 127 miles. Any advice? Do I have any right to demand a new car?

i'm not sure what the lemon laws are in MA. in IL you have some recourse if they cannot fix a problem (which must be fairly serious) after 3 attempts in a 30 day period.

yeah, In MA the lemon law says that if the car is out of service for more than 15 days, or they fail to fix it 3 times, you can initiate action to get a refund or new car. I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar problem right after purchase, and *****ed to Acura or their dealer, and got a new car without having to go through lemon law proceedings. Somehow I doubt it.

I just get this feeling that once they fix it, the dash won't fit right or will squeek/rattle, etc. (they are probably going to have to take the dash apart).

Good news. They did not have to take the dash apart. A smart mechanic decided to take apart the heater box, and found a cable was not adjusted properly - had to take it apart to realize it was even adjustable. Fixed it. Did a great job as far as I can see.

That is interesting that he did not even know that the cable was adjustable... shouldn't that information be covered in the service manual?

Congrats, the dash is the last place you want to go.

Sounds good. Wish all dealers would know it.

KJSmitty is right, something loosed inside.
