No cop = Not Guilty
I had my court hearing today for my speeding ticket (73 in a 50) and the cop never showed up! I never had that happen to me before and was wondering how many of you guys have gotten off for a cop not showing up to court?
when luck smiles upon you- the officer does not show
Normally they schedule the court day for their day off- so they get extra pay for showing up!
If there was a situation where all the officers were called to be on duty- they cant make it to court and you win
Thats the rule--
if you dont show up- thats saying you accept the judges decision and will pay the fine

I got a ticket in Arkansas, not a single cop, but then again they were doin something where the judge automatically had you pay a fine and attend defensive driving class. If you WANTED to plead guilty they rescheduled your court date. After spending 5 hours there waiting, I gave up and just took the class. If I dont get a ticket in Arkansas for 6 months its off my record. (which means I still have a spotless driving record :woohoo: I know thats not a smiley!)

cops get 4 hours of pay whether they are there 5 mins or the full 4 hours... atleast that is how it is in new york, sometimes they rather just not get paid... you real lucky tho... 20+ over would've cost you a nice chunk of change
