Newbie 2004 TL

Just found this forum - very sweet. Just picked up a mint 04' TL Black with tan interior with 57K. It is certified pre-owned so I get the drive train warranty until 100K.

Noticed most guys service their own cars. I am not too crazy about doing oil changes. Where should I bring it - dealer ? or other options ?

Congratulations and Welcome! You're going to find a wealth of information here. Car stuff and more.
I take mine to the dealership for service but I bought it new. It's just easier that way. Yeah, call me lazy. I would imagine any shop would be ok for routine maintenance. Just make sure they're familiar with resetting the MID.

Congrats on the recent acquisition and welcome to the forums. If you do take your car elsewhere and the indy shop does not reset the MID, you can do that yourself.

I used to do my own oil changes, but I am past that now.

I usually bring mine to a quick change place (NOT Jiffy Lube). Mainly because I want to take the car when it is convenient for me and not wait for an appointment.

I have been bringing them my cars for years and never had a problem. I like the fact that I can watch them through the window and make sure they put in the synthetic I pay for.

Welcome. How much did you pay for your 2004TL? Does it have Nav? Standard or automatic?

I paid $22K but the body and interior are mint. No nav and an automatic. Alos the extended warranty on the drivetrain will give me some piece of mind.
