The /NEW Toyota Solara
I was approaching what to me looked likek the Lexus sc430
sport coupe from the back,as i got closer i saw that it was the
new solara, not a bad looking car, although once the light turned
green,i saw that he wanted to race,i pulled away from him rather
easily.

Why that stupid Solara liked to race with you? Only 225 hp & 240 lb.-ft... by some angles, it's really similar to SC430, this just lowers Lexus unique class.
Should stay away our roads.
FRANKKIE, where r u? I'm still looking for your WDP... You seem to find the way to speed up now... Good luck.

Im prb paying the highest for insurance also,4800$ a year.
Murder! But i have no choice,my not so clean license can
be blamed, also the reckless drivers in Ny who have boosted
the insurance rates through the roof,as well as all the scams.

I waited to see the '04 Solara before deciding on the TSX. I think it looks pretty good (maybe a little soft), but it seems to be designed as more of a comfy cruiser than sporty coupe. I don't think a MT is available with the 6-cyl yet either. For that same reason, I scratched the Camry SE V6 sedan off my list.

Your rate seems regular for ppl living in NYC by your ages and records. I did get 7 tickets before 1998, (3 in NY, 1 in PA, 1 in NC, 1 in GA and 1 in IL). I got the terrible rate before 2001. Now, I pay 1/3 of your amount, what the dramatic change. I believe both of us were those recklessness-ers in the past, and did contribute a little bit to raise the insurance policy rate.
Wish you have safety ride everyday and always beat other damn cars in very cautious ways without tickets.

lol but seriosuly, what the hell is up with toyota/lexus cars? i love the gs430. hell my uncle has one and it's awesome but all their cars are becoming really unattractive to me.
3 things:
1. SUV craze, people like the space of em (and we are getting fatter), so cars are getting taller, wider, bigger. ANd bigger cars are just uglier to design. It's very tough. The S-class is one of the few big cars to be pretty to just about anyone.
2. Computers, designers have lost touch, no more clay, no more drawings. TO save time and money, cars are designed on computers. And no 3-d can every look like a clay model. So we are stuck with these ugly things.
3. Media, where a designer in the 60s had maybe 1 t.v and radio in his home, he could really design something original. Nowadays, cars are all over, designers HAVE to be influenced no matter conciously or subconciously.

The new solara is over designed....it's as if they're tryin to hard to be cool & edgy. In the end I like the TL's sophisticated yet sporty look. Just my two cents.

Funny you posted this today. I just saw the new Solara for the firs time today in our company parking lot. I'm going to find out what kind of a blind moron bought that car so that I can get their ass fired for inflicting emotional harm on me!
This has got to be the ugliest car after the Aztec and the new Maxima! Here's how I feel about it: :yack:

I live in Nashville, Tennessee and there's a Nissan factory here where they make Altimas and Maximas. Maybe people are loyal to them here, I dunno, but THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! I started noticing Altimas after hearing about them having the same crummy tires as TLs and now I can't stop seeing them! Someone please help me! I see about 20 a day on the way to work.
And BTW, I still haven't seen 1 TL on the street here.

I had a '99 Solara before the TL. It was a great car for the money, and flawless for the 5 years I had it.
The new ones really dissapoint me. Toyota has a REAL design problem in my opinion. This concept of making the head and tail lights this big silver statement on the car I find very unappealing.
The droopy back end looks like a used bar of soap, and then the dealers have to try to lift it back up again by adding a pseudo-spoiler to it, which makes it even worse! I can't see how they sell ANY of the SC430s, unless there are those that just want to show off an expensive car and don't car WHAT it looks like!
What is REALLY disturbing is that Toyota's design center is in So. Calif!! WHERE are these designers coming from?
