New TL Owner!
New TL Owner!
Well I had been browsing this forum for a long time before I finally registered. I had lots of questions while I was looking for the right TL for me and I got a lot of helpful answers.
I just picked up my TL yesterday. It is an Acura certified pre-owned 06 AM with Ebony leather with 35000 miles, and best of all, it has 3 pedals!
What's interesting is that I was looking at this car for 2-3 months and it was first listed at $24000. After a month or so it went down to about $21000. After I noticed that its Autotrader listing disappeard, I called the dealer and they told me the unit was sold. Since I really couldn't find the manual one I like, I was about to give up and get an auto because I felt that my 02 Pontiac Grand Am with 165k miles would give out soon.
But last week, the ad for this same car popped up again for $18900. I thought this was an unbelievable deal! I couldn't even find automatic 06's for this price.
I quickly went to the dealer yesterday and it was still not sold after a week. They told me they had about 4-5 interested buyers from other midwest states, but they couldn't come during the week because they had to work. I thought that was their stretegy to not negotiate but I knew that manual TL's are very rare.
Although I have driven my friends' manual cars for a bit, I never owned one before. When I was test driving it I killed it almost everytime. I looked around and I didn't see any problems. I had to pay $18900 because the dealer would not give up. So I asked a little more for trade in and we sealed the deal. I also bought an extended warranty for $1200 and it was $21000 out the door.
I had my brother drive it home because he was better and after a day, I am pretty comfortable now. I always liked the looks of these TL's and I love mine. This is a huge upgrade compared to my last car.
Well sorry for the long intro, but this is how excited I am....wouldn't you agree this price is amazing?
I am residing in Iowa but my parents live in Aurora, Illinois, so hopefully I will get to meet some of you folks soon.

Welcome to TL ownership! I have to agree with some that there is a part of me that wished I picked up a manual as well. However, my last several cars were slushboxes, so the AT was a welcome change when I picked her up last December.

First off welcome! We're new too. Secondly, you got an AWESOME deal. We bought ours earlier this year. It had 34000 miles on it and a 2006 ASM base TL auto. Out the door it was 23,500 with extended warranty. Here are some pics of her getting some mods done right now. https://acurazine.com/forums/norcal-309/meesheddies-acura-tl-getting-modded-751414/
You got a great ride on your hands. Treat her well and she'll return the favor.

meesheddie, silver is a great color. My last car was silver. All I did was washed about twice a month, waxed maybe twice in 8 years and it still looked fresh when i got rid of it.
And yea, the carfax on my TL still shows up as 1 owner so I am not sure why that car dissappered. The dealer claimed that the cheap price went online by an accident.
I already want to get some things for it. Window tint and factory accessories such as the deck lid spoiler, splash guards, and body side moldings...and they are pricey.

Oh and mine is non-navi and I really didn't care for it. I am not new to car modding. I always have done stuff to my cars and so have my friends. I am going to try to keep this one pretty subtle.
Nice! I am about ready to take the plunge just test drove a 2007 Silver type S 55K going for 27000 certified at the acura dealership. First time driving and I love it! but I wish it was more around 30K sense I will be putting about 25K a year on it.

I just read an article in the Kansas City paper that said silver is the most popular automotive color, followed by white, then black. Jungy's is anthricite.
Silver is the most popular color. I had a chance to buy a silver 05 6-speed with all the A-Spec goodies but didn't want it because I didn't want a silver again.
