new TL owner

I just bought my 2004 TL a few hours ago. Been researching cars for awhile now and lurking on boards like this one and finally decided on the TL and found a pretty good deal on a beautiful car with low miles. Take a look... and I look forward to spending more time here learning more!

i believe that is ABP right? Don't they make RBP now i.e. for the 07 MY? Very similar IMHO.

Good eye. No, I didn't "want" the gold... but a gold emblem wasn't going to stop me from buying the car.
Interestingly, the gold on the trunk emblem has a few flakes starting to come off of it. Not noticable from more than 5', but annoying nonetheless.

Can you tell me about your buying experience? Did you go with certified pre owned? How much did you bargain the price down to?

New emblems are relatively cheap at least.

I bought the car from my local Carmax dealer. In my many searches online they had 2 on the lot that fell into my pricerange and requirements (3rd gen, low mileage, one of my color choices, etc). The listed price (no haggling at Carmax) was $3500 under KBB. So not only was it in my price range, but in the range of other "discount" sites and private owners I'd seen elsewhere. On top of that, I'd had several friends tell me of good buying experiences there.

The only thing I didn't like about Carmax was their loan rates. They have their own lending agency (Carmax Financing) and their rates are not great. But they have a "3 for free" deal where you can go get another loan wherever you want and if you complete the transaction within 3 days, you don't owe them any fees or interest. So today I refinanced through my local credit union for about 2.5% lower rate.
