Acura has a habit of making small stupid subtle changes like that on a facelift. I wonder why they would do that, I'd imagine it would cost more for them to change the design. Maybe because 1157 bulbs are much more popular, but they should have done those bulbs from the get-go.
There are so many little things that shouldn't matter that they made non-interchangable on the 07+ cars. (Like the way the Type-S rear trim is 1mm too big for the pre-06s.....WHY??)

ahhh. good point. that's exactly what it must be. 1157 is more globular and 7443 is oblong a bit.
Sunny, I bought the Type-S trim and trimmed 1mm too much on both sides and used double-sided tape. I was unhappy with it. Then I landed 2 scratches on it and burned it with a dremel bit during my backup cam install. Not too noticable but I chucked it. Bought another one and had a hard time taking the old one off. The double-sided tape was strong stuff. This time I decided not to trim the new piece and I wedged in there trying to rely on the double-sided tape. The pressure from the bowing of the piece took over and it came loose twice already. It's still bowing, it's not going anywhere for now, it's been like that for 5 months. I have to fix it when the weather gets better. I guess I'll have to trim...

A question for any who have these already, is it just both of my bulbs or do they have to heat up for a bit (like stay on for at least a minute or so) for them to actually start flashing amber and staying white. I started the car and turned on the turn signal to show my brother and the first flash was amber, then it just kept flashing white on and off.. Then about a minute later it worked perfectly(flashing amber but staying lit white).

your switchbacks take a minute to work??? EH? No they shouldn't....Mine work immediately, everytime on cue perfectly......Somehow maybe there is some wiring that is wrong, a loose connection or the contacts of the bulb and receptacle are not in the correct position. The 7443 has a pair of contacts for the high/low setting of the bulb that should correspond to whether the white or amber should be lit. Lastly it could be temperature but I doubt it. I don't have those problems. If it persists, after troubleshooting, send them back.

OK but you tapped the screws into metal or plastic on the other side? Into metal could mean rust....Into plastic could mean cracking under stress. As long as it works it might not be a bad idea.

Im guessing its the cold, ill find out as it should be warming up pretty soon. If not then I guess Ill have to contact autolumination

Make sure you complain about this to autolumination because my ol skool HF-LED switchbacks don't do that and neither does bforbrian's. If they take 30 sec. it defeats the whole purpose! It HAS to come on instantly.
the website offers 20 LED and 30 LED switchbacks for 1157. the 30 LED is called the "30 LED SMT" What does SMT mean? Which do you guys recommend, and do both of them fix the stock housing (plug and play)
SMTs are surface mount technology type of LEDs. They are among some of the newest types of LEDs and are called so because they are soldered directly to the surface of the circuit board. They are smaller (comparatively to other LEDs of similar specs) and lower profile than past designs so can be used in wider types of applications.
The 30 LED model is the "new" model we are talking about. The 20 LED model is the older one that needs modding to the housing to enlarge the bulb opening because it uses the larger older style HF (high-flux) LEDs.
