Question New Spark Plugs

Anyone have a recommendation on replacement spark plugs for a 3rd Gen TL?

Thank you,

Stick with the NGK Iridium IX
the denso cost more and last less time/miles
If you're replacing the plugs- do an injector/valves/piston cleaning with Seafoam first
Start with everything nice and fresh and new spark!

*I do not take responsibility if you mess this up, cuz i have heard of horror stories. Also, although it says O2 sensor safe on the bottle, i've heard of some people f'n up their O2's.

-buy seafoam
-do it before your gonna do an oil change, or you can do it whenever, but ur gonna have to change your oil right after
-do it with little gas in the tank
-1/3 goes in the oil
-1/3 goes in the gas tank
-1/3 goes in the crank SLOWLY. With the engine on, find a vacuum line, and use it to slowly suck it in through the intake manifold. In my civic, i did it through the brake booster. If you do it too fast, you have the possibility of hydrolocking your motor.
-when your done with that, drive the car hard, 3.5k-redline (anywhere between that)
-enjoy the smoke show. when thats over, you've burned out all the bad stuff in the engine.
-immediately change your oil and fill up your gas tank

wow= you guys need to use the search feature on this one!!!
In 2nd generation TL, DIY section is the method- skip to the last few pages, a better VAC port at the TB has been located and tested as better method.
On the oil method- its being used as an engine grunge remover- pour in, idle or drive a bit and change the oil and filter.
IN the intake manifold vac port- you do a hot foot drive afterwards to heat and blow out the gunge- that will keep it from sticking to the O2 sensors
In the gas- 1 can in 1/4 tank is cleaning dose of 2 oz per gal of fuel- that gets the injectors really good.
The 1/3 can each place in cheating yourselff and the car from optimum performance.
Hydro lock from seafoam?- no way- it will stall the engine because its not gasoline and you simply restart engine and use a little more throttle to keep it running.
then let it percolate 15 minutes and hot foot drive
Do the oil change method seperate from the intake method- no hot foot with seafoam in the oil.

whatever makes you happy BUT
Just for referance- when you go to the dealer or shop that does ~ fuel injector cleaning service~ for 100-150 bucks, they have a machine with some gasoline in a can with SEAFOAM-- they run the car off that for 20 minutes- then tell you to hot foot drive it!

Seafoam has been in use for like 50 years and by thousands of members of acurazine and never had any probs WHEN the directions are followed. Its main advantage over fuel cleaners is you can use it everywhere. Unlike brand x fuel cleaner- it is made of hi detergent oils, not solvents like toululene - read labels and learn
You can read seafoams website for details if you need.

i read this tech article in 3/08 issue of DSport Mag. the right size for our UA6 would be their "be1" plug model #. who knows- maybe its worth checking out since this was actually featured by DSport Mag and not some gay ass mag like SportCompactCar.

there are 3 members with gen2 cars that ordered the pulsestar plugs and 1 has installed so far- awaiting full tank fuel mileage test results. Initial reports from gen3 with instant mpg readout says 1 mpg better on short test runs.

how many threads are you going to ask this in?
if plugs under 60k miles they will be fine
you only consider the oil if you have added seafoam directly to the engine oil- then yes you want to change it and the filter of course!

I find that it works best if you dip the air filter in seafoam. The car makes a neat sucking noise as it's dying for it's last breath.

Denso plugs are proven by azine members to last 30k miles and be dead-
while NGK will run good to 60k miles and last to 100 if you like having less than peak performance from your car-
the stock plugs are ngk
Iridium is suggested by many- platinum is old school
do not use ac delco or bosch plugs- not for a TL !!!
