Hi Guys,

For a quick easy mod that can be done in minutes and change the outlook of your car. Tinted rear side markers for your TL. We wanted to post up some pics here for everyone to see. I am sure this is not for everyone, but there have several requests for this product.

Here is little demo pic for you. Please pardon the photoshop until we get some real pics. We are just going to effects.

Rockblocker, first let me say those look sweet. That was why I hadn't even considered tinting the rears. What % is that in the pic? Will the rear side marker one also fit the front side marker (they look to be the same size, but I'm not sure)? Also, do you have a pic with and without tints with the break lights on (would like to see how much, if any, the lights are dimmed)? Thanks.

 

Thanks for the compliment. They are 20% tint. I dont if the rear will work for the side. Hadnt thought of that really. These are the only pics we have right now. I am sure that once people start to buy them we will have more pics to show.

I just found another thread in the pics section with some guys who had theirs tinted. Some other members said there was some distortion, but I couldn't tell. Would love to see side by side of tints/no tints with lights and brakes on. Also, there seems to be a general concensus that these are illegal. Does that mean you won't pass inspection or that you'll pass but a cop might give you a ticket some day?

 

You know I was going to plop down money for the rear tints, but now that I see the sides, I think I'll wait for the package. Thanks Chad.

Well, I just busted my own bubble...just spent the last 10 minutes or so checking out NC law...bastards won't let you pass inspection with smoked tail lights. Personally, I think it should depend on if you can see the lights or not, which with these you clearly can. Since I don't have the hookup, I'm screwed; however, I still think the car looks great, especially if you smoke the front, too, like cTLgo did!

 

Those are sweet, anyone know if they're legal in Tejas

 

just ordered the 20% tint. once i get them i'll install one and take pics to compare. hey rockblocker, hope i get a discount when i order the side marker tint

 

These mods are not street legal in most states I am sure. Some states do run annual inspections on vehicles especially back east. We have not heard of anyone having a problem with any of colored films. That is not to say you wont. The ultimate decision is yours to make just like whether you window tint is legal or not.

 

I hate to say it, but I dont know who you are off of the board name, but I can tell you this that the combo pack is the same price as the sale price for the smoked tails and side markers by themselves. so you are covered.

Definatly good if you are gonna be tinting all your lights.

isnt the first pic you have there just a photoshopped version of the second one? how clean are the side markers edges going to be?

the regular tailight is bgi enough and you can get the tint around the corners. but im worried about the sizes of the edges of the side markers with the tint

Busted, you caught us. HAHA. Yes we photoshop to give people the look since everytime we make a we make a new product everyone wants to see a pic before we even sell one. I am sure you can understand. The edges will be clean with rounded radius.

worst come to worst..you can always go to a tint shop and ask them to do it for you..that way it's a guarantee that it'll come out good.

IMO..blacking out the tailights only work nicely in a black car. If it's done on a car like white (shown above)..the colors don't coordinate w/ each other.

i posted my pics on https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113520. it's SSM but i took pics during the install, after, and at night. i was worried that it came out too dark but it didn't. the tint is 20% and the lights shine as if there is no tint.

let me know you need more pics. i was in a rush and didn't take time taking the pics. but will be more than happy to snap more.
