What's up everyone? I am a new member of the community. I'm turning 17 in late may, and I have a 2004 TL. My dad gave it to me, for he bought it brand new in 2005 and recently got the mdx for himself. So i got this TL. I've been driving it around for some time now, and I love it. I have the BLue Abyss Pearl color, it's in very good condition, around 76,000 miles. I wanna do some work to it. For I'm going to tint the windows, thinking about 70% tints for the 4 windows and back. I just wanna stay legal for now (not tryna get pulled over for any reasons I don't need to). I called a local shop and they said they'd charge $195. I'm very new to all this, but from the research I have done that seems to be a higher price.
Once I get this done, I'm thinking about changing some of the silver accents. I would really like to black it out, but since it's blue I think it'd look weird. I was thinking about adding gunmetal accents. After tinting I would powder coat the wheels gunmetal grey. I have no clue how much this goes for, I am seeing around a few hundred per year? Then eventually I'd make the badges, grill and everything else gunmetal. Has anyone done this? And how do you think it'll look with the blue abyss pearl color. Thanks

Pictures of it currently-

Welcome and congrats!

Gunmetal would look much better than black, excellent choice

I had my wheels powdercoated gunmetal for around $330. That doesn't price include mounting and dismounting the tires or the alignment afterwards though.

Congrats! Dark blue would look sweet with gunmetal accents, $195 does seem high for tint, depends on what film they are using though. Also, look up legal tints for your state. 70% is hardly anything, down here in FL you can get 25% on the fronts and 15% on the rears.

Actually, here is a website...

http://tintlaws.com/

Nevermind, just looked at NY, 70% is the legal limit! That sucks!!

I, personally, would go with at least 50% tint. With 70% it's not even worth the cost of getting them tinted. Even at 50% it's barely noticeable that you have tint.
