New Lexus IS

I currently own Acura TL Type-S and was wondering what everyone thought about the New Lexus IS?

I've read that new V6 engine will have 320 horses. Also the styling is very nice and sleek.

The New IS does look a lot better then the old one. I love the aggressive front end...but the rear is....arrgghhhh. If you stare at it long enough it kinda looks like the Scion tC

I actually like the rear.

From the front it has alot of similarities with TL Type-S. If they come with V6 AWD for around $35k I think I would have to seriously consider this car.

Some of the features are very nice.
-
- Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management System
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Six Speed Automatic with Paddle-Shift Control integrated into the steering wheel
- Speed Sensitive Steering
- Pre-Crash Safety System
- 10 Air Bags
- Rotating Xenon Headlights

I like it to. The problem is, optioned up like a TL comes standard, it will be close to 40k. I still also believe it is slightly smaller than a TL but slightly larger than a TSX. I did see a picture with paddle shifters behind the wheel though! Cool. They will have a base motor, a 2.5v6 which is a good idea (though it will be about 32k) with a 3.5 as an option. I wish the TSX has such an option (even the 3.0 Honda v6 would be nice in a TSX).

Are you sure about that? The articles I remember reading, said the IS250 was going to start at like 27k, and the IS350 was going to start at 32k.

$40k price tag might be justified if it comes with all of the options, V6 & AWD. Especially if the Lexus quality is very visible. But since this is entry level car to their line I would think they would price it very aggressive.

Here is the picture of the rear. I think it's very clean and nice looking. It works with overall styling of the car. Maybe adding some type of wing will add to the look for some but I think it looks good stock.

Acutally I see some of the new GS styling in it especially in the front.

"A 200-horsepower, 2.5-liter V6 will be standard, and we expect this car to be called the Lexus IS 250... The IS 250 is expected to run 0 to 60 in less than 8.5 seconds, which is decent but not quick performance, with a top speed of 137 mph."

I guarantee (knowing Lexus) the IS 250 will start in the low $30K range and be at least $35K with NAV. That engine is a dog. Might as well get a Buick LaCrosse.

I think it looks pretty cool. It will definitely be a car I keep an eye on. Might take a drive in one when it is in showrooms, just for fun.

Two big factors for me: what will the price be, and will it be roomy enough? If it is too much smaller than the TL there is no way I would get it.

That's what I read. Check out the link at the top. Also I've read it's going to have MPG in high 20's. More I find out about this car more I like about it.
