My name is Brian, Im from Houston, TX. I drive a 2004 WDP 5at Acura TL. Ive had the car for four years and I just recently started moding it. My question is? I just received my a spec lip kit today, and it's freshly painted. My front and rear bumpers paint is faded, it does not match the paint on the rest of the car. Has anyone had this problem? Can I buff or wax it to get the color to match? Or do I have to get the bumpers repainted?

You prolly have to get the bumper repainted, I know when I installed my A-spec they repainted the rear to match it I have an SSM

 

Yeah that's a common problem, especially with WDP.

I know it's a pain in the ass but you have to remember that the paint on the kit is fresh and the paint on your car has been exposed to weather and elements for years on end.

 

Thanks for the input, I might consider swapping them with the 07-08 bumper.

Even if you repaint the bumper, the bumper then might not match the rest of the car right. It's annoying, yes. My SSM suffers the same fate, but I'm sure only I'm able to notice.

idk my bumpers are faded pretty bad, I think new paint will make it less noticeable. I might sell this one and get a 6 speed with navi, like ive always wanted.

 

i bought my 05 last summer ... a month later threw on the aspec and noticed the paint didnt match up when looking at it at some angles but it really isnt that noticeable. How off are the colors?

and are u ever planning on getting atlp quads? If so, maybe nows the time to swap for type S rear end possibly? haha

 

My WDP= Aspec doesn't match bumpers, bumpers don't match the rest of the car. You'll learn to live with it.

 

ask any body shop, matching any kind of white is extremely hard.
