Hahaha I hear ya on that man. The first month I always get a car, I always do a shit ton of stuff to it.

Here's my personal list for what you should do to your car in order:
1-Tint
2-CAI
3-Suspension
4-A-Spec Kit
5-Type-S Tails and Type-S rear side markers
6-Cleared/Painted Headlights
7-Stereo Upgrade

^But that's just me. I put the system at the bottom of the list because the stock system in the TL isn't THAT bad. Yes I miss my subwoofer and such, but I can manage. It's much better than what my mom has in her 1997 Dodge Intrepid.

Damn. Do you install all that stuff yourself? I want to get a CAI...but don't think I'd be able to put it in myself without screwing something up.

Haha hell nah I couldn't do all of that stuff myself. I put in my CAI, new side markers, and tail lights. I don't even have the other stuff I have listed there on my car; I was just giving him an order that I would buy parts for my car if I had the money and do everything over again.

I wish somebody would buy my damn wheels in the BM so I could get my A-Spec kit

1-CAI: AEM V1 or V2, Injen, or Fujita?

2-Type-S Tails and Type-S rear side markers: I'm gonna' do these soon.

3-Stereo Upgrade: Main priority right now, I need some boom to my bass.

4-Suspension: 1-1.5in drop.

These are the main things I want to do right now.

The first mod I did on my car was debadging the car. IMO, a debadged trunk is really clean. Buy Goo-Gone which is about 3 dollars from Autozone and pour it over the trunk emblems, wait a few minutes and use floss to take the emblems off. Afterwards, use a credit card or something to take off the remaining sticky stuff. It's a really cheap mod, I would do that first haha.

^Agreed. That was the 2nd thing I did to my car after tint. It's really easy. I'm about to take off the "A" emblem on the back, spray it black with VHT Niteshadez and put it back on. It looks sweet on WDP

1) I was thinking about Debadging it. Can I reinstall the emblems if I don't like the look?

2) What are mods that I can do for/under;
$100: ?
$200: ?
$300: ?

Just anything you guys can think of for those price ranges. I gotta' pay for insurance too, so I'm tight on cash for now.

1) I was thinking about Debadging it. Can I reinstall the emblems if I don't like the look? Yes you can. Just get some double sided tape. Most people use 3M.

2) What are mods that I can do for/under;
$100:
-Full interior and exterior LED's(all inside lights, reverse lights, and license plate lights with white LED's).
-Paint your brake calipers.
-Paint all of your engine shrouding.
-Add the CF Trim around your cup holders and heated seats switches
-New Pedals
-Detailing supplies. What's the point of having a nice car and want to do stuff to it if it doesn't stay clean?
$200:
-Tint, depending on where you go to have it done.
-Headlight modification, black or clear them out. You could pay JnC to do em; prices will vary depending on what's done.
-All weather floor-mats (if necessary). Keeps the carpet much cleaner, especially during winter.
-Window visors (if necessary). You a smoker? If so, most people swear by these things.
-iPod integration
-Mid muffler delete. You will lose a miniscule about of performance due to back-pressure, but the exhaust will have more of a deeper and throatier tone. A shop could do this for you. I have no idea how much they would charge.
$300:
-CAI.
-Lowering springs, you do risk blowing out the stock shocks doing so though.
-TL-S tail lights and side markers.
-Get your grill painted the same color of the car or something similar.
-Some sort of Amp/Subwoofer combo (Craigslist most likely).
-Slotted rotors.

It sounds like you are pretty stressed on money but are eager to get things on the car, I can relate. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would keep my tinted windows and would have kept the car stock (or at least tried harder) until it was paid off. Doing shit to your car is fun as hell, but it's not worth breaking the bank and causing you more stress. The TL is a sexy ass car stock or with piles on money poured into it.

I feel ya' man, I think that's the only option I have until I get a job that pays more.

All I'm gonna do for the time being:
1) New amp and subs
2) Tint
3) Ipod integration unit, do these work in the non-navi model?
4) Better HID bulbs.

And then if there's ever a great deal on something I may pick it up. CAI, exhaust, a-spec kit, etc.

Anyways, What do ya'll think of this amp?

Hello David, Congrats on your car and Welcome to AZ.

I have had my car only for a couple months so here is what I can do for you:

1) Tints - your going to want to get some moleskin to avoid scratching your tints. I had to replace because I didnt know this. you can buy for $5 at http://www.empirepao.com/ and you will find a bunch of post on how to install it here. you may also ask your local tint shop to install it for you.

2) Ipod Integration - I bought the iSimple for $136 shipped from vendor here in the Group Buy forum. I have a 04 TL non-Navi and I am real happy with how it works. Good sound quality, easy instal, text display in oem radio and managed from radio / steeringwheel. There are a couple of threads on this also.

Here is where I got the iSimple:
https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/isimple-group-buy-707785/

Here is a thread on how to install: I did it myself (Best Buy wanted to charge me $70) Install took me about 20 mins. and its totally concealed. mi connection comemes out through the center console. This thread and links in it will really help.

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/i-058-just-installed-peripheral-electronics-isimple-ipod-adapter-review-install-tips-697728/

Good luck and congrats again.

That amp is straight man

400W RMS is straight for one sub. Were you planning on running one subwoofer or two? If two, you may want to consider another amp. Then again I'm not a car audio pro, I'm just speaking from experience.

What do you guys think about some sony xplods sub/amp combo?

And what do you guys think about me combining these 2;

The W3v3 will handle 100-500 watts RMS, therefore that amp would be good but a tad underpowered I would think. If you want just a little more bass that's noticeable but not overbearing, it would be good, but if you want to really blast it, I don't think it's quite enough. Close but no cigar. Just my

WOOT! just found out today that my TL's a '05, not a '04. lol

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-NEW-18x8-5x114-3-Konig-Runaway-Wheels-Rims_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQh ashZitem53dcb8c2afQQitemZ360185381551QQptZMotorsQ5 fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

What do you guys think of those rims? Those on a SSM with red brake calipers.

Also, what do you guys think about me adding on a black a-spec kit so my car would ssm with black a-spec lip and sideskirts.

Sorry, but I'm not feeling those wheels at all.

And keep the A-Spec kit the same color as your car. You can always get the grey pieces of the kit painted black, but I wouldn't go for the two-tone look.

Those are big plans man! What happened to not having any money?

You have some pretty wild ideas for this 05 TL, I'd do some Photo Shop pics and post them here to see how those ideas really look.

I am not feeling the wheels either, however, it is your car and you should mod it to your taste. If you like five spoke wheels, I think this would look great on a SSM:

These I almost put on my Car, id go for 19"s. I went for the five spoke 350z anniversary wheels. just because they are 18"s and I needed a little bit more tire, since streets here in Puerto Rico are awful. Have not got them yet so once I do Ill post pics.

Good luck and let me know what you think,

Peace,

Rolan
