New guy

Hello!

I'm Timothy, live in Memphis, TN. I just acquired a ASM '06 TL Navi/5AT. It was meticulously cared for by my father, just rolled over 49,000 miles. He got back into a sports car, and I just got out of mine! I was driving a '00 Trans Am ws6, it had 3" true duals, longtubes, lid, etc... sounded like a pro-stock car, rode like a covered wagon. I needed a practical vehicle, but with a little sport. Feels so weird not being in something insanely loud. Not used to a smooth ride either.

So far it has tint, 18" TSW Snettertons, and Comptech CBE.
I've got white LED's coming for the interior, and some for the reverse lights. I'm wanting to drop it slightly, install a RSB, 6MT A-spec coils on Koni Yeller struts, and some more tech stuff...maybe iSimple. I'm reading up on the Navi-hack faq at the moment! Heres a pic :

Yea, I've considered it...he got those put on to fend of door dings, don't know how effective they are...no dings so far. *knock* *knock*

^--- meh, those only work if the door happens to hit where the BSM's are. Some doors will make contact higher (esp SUV's) or lower than the BSM's so in those cases, they're useless.

Congrats Welcome to AZ! Check out the 3G garage for tons of info. Also register your TL at www.myacura.com in the USA or https://www.myacura.acura.ca/ in Canada. Save your Navi and Radio codes there. Check for any recalls your TL may need.

So...started swapping out interior bulbs for LED's via JLCLightings(wide angle wedge type). I started with the doors. Before I even thought about stepping outside, I took a eyeglass tool, and gently bent the contacts. Plugged them in right the first time on each side(yay), and voila...light. BUT there's an LED out on each side. So frustrating.... I tried jiggling, but theres just no coaxing the little guys to come back on. Damn near 50 dollars for the kit...you'd expect it to work right, just saying.

I'll keep you guys updated on the rest...hopefully I won't have anymore duds. I have vanity, courtesy, dome, license plate, and reverse to go through now.

Btw, the rest of the interior LED's lit up no problem.

I installed the CREE LED's(reverse) from JLC as well. I have great vision out the back windscreen, and have 30% tint. If it needs to be any brighter...your tint is too damn dark, lol.

Not yet, I checked the door led's again, and there is still a diode out on each door bulb. I'll contact them in the morning.
