Welcome Miensta and nice ride! I did a year at Clear AFS (75 miles south of Fairbanks) with plenty of trips to Anchorage and Fairbanks in the winter. Yeah, it's not worth washing the car! Definitely fun driving to Anchorage in March though. Had so much snow that all the signs were covered up! Of course, the moose like to use the roads too (rather than bust a new trail) so that got exciting at times. The moose, icy roads, and the frost heaves all made for a self-imposed speed limit (or they found your body when the snow melted if you drove too fast). Good times!
