New to the boards.

Hey guys, I currently own a Grand Prix White MY07 S2000. (Will post pics only if you guys want to see them.) I'm planning to pick up a TL soon since its a lot more daily driver friendly than the stiff/noisy S2000 cabin. (Mind you, i'm on full coilovers, and have a pretty loud exhaust ) ahahaha Just had some questions . I tried searching TL Type-S but couldn't really find any topics that dealt with the distinctions that made a Type-S a well, a Type-S.

1. Do all Type-S's get Navigation?
2. What are some key differences from 2004-2008 in power/tranny/suspension wise?

That is all.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, POST pics of your S2K.

All Type-S TL's do get Navi.

Regarding the differences, the biggest are the different powerplants and different suspension, among numerous others. Also, I hope you get a 6MT, as that is only available on the Type-S.

Yes definitely getting the 6 speed manual. I was looking at IS350's until I found out they specifically only come in auto. Everyone around me is telling me to go with the IS350, but we'll see after I test drive both. But going with pure looks, I absolutely love the TL's edgy but elegant lines. Thank you for you input!

Type-S basically comes with ALL the bells and whistles. Navi, bluetooth, voice command, etc. Suspension is stiffer than a regular TL. Has the 3.5L engine with 286HP vice the 3.2L 256HP. Awesome ride. Oh and welcome to AZ!!

That's amazing .. I was thinking about the G35 which is more powerful, yet a couple grand cheaper. But if a type-S came fully loaded, the price tag it has is definitely worth it. Still trying to choose between an Lexus IS series, or the TL. Leaning more and more towards the TL going through those picture galleries

I see you already know Donald Tam (IllustriousUA6). So you are getting a TL-S and keeping the AP2 for the weekend?

Coming from a RWD car you don't mind FWD?

I must say the TL is a lot of bang for the buck. The G35 does have more power and rear wheel drive. Test drive them both.

Ahahaha I'm not that baller. Gonna trade in my 07 S2K and either finance the rest or try to pay it with cash. It sucks that TL's have a slow depreciation rate.

That's the thing, If I wanted a all out performance car I would've gotten a RWD. I've had my fun for now,(with the S2K) and until I can start living on my own with a steady income, gonna have to settle for something that I can drive everyday for a couple or more years. I'm definitely thinking about re-buying the S2K once I move out on my own and doing a complete widebody + custom turbo set up. But for now, a little performance, great luxury seems like a better choice. Not to mention having to strain my back and my ears going numb driving for any more than an hour in the S2K.
