New to Acurazine

Hey everyone,
My name is Andy. I am in the Kansas City Area. I recently bought a RRP 04 TL with Navi. I got the car for 5k. It has 150k miles. I have done quite a bit of research and have decided to go ahead and do a 3x3 on the transmission with Redline type F. I will be doing a 1x3 every 1000 miles until I get all the old acura fluid out, that's if the fluid reacts in a positive way. I am also going to do the 3rd and 4th pressure switches. I was also wondering is the A-spec lip kit group buy still going on? Here she is.

Congrats Welcome to AZ! Check out the 3G garage for tons of info. Also register your TL at www.myacura.com in the USA or https://www.myacura.acura.ca/ in Canada. Save your Navi and Radio codes there. Check for any recalls your TL may need.

5K thats a great price! As long as the car was well taken care of it will run for many more miles to come. And trust me you won't have a problem finding ways to spend your money here.

Welcome Andy! Congrats on TL!!! And 5k?? Wow that's great deal!!! Ready for spending money on modbug?? For the A-spec kits, pm AckTL05. I think he still sells them for $750.00~$780.00 shipped. I got mine for $750.00 shipped. Maybe $760.00. I don't remember exact #.

welcome Andy

we all are gonna meet up at fast fridays (tomorrow) at 6:30....Fast Fridays is at KC trends on 135th and Antioch....

and i see you are going the same route as I have with the ATF....i actually wish i would have done things differently....

this is what i would do:

right now, switch out the 3rd and 4th pressure switches and change the transmission filter....about the drain and refill, here are the %'s

Drain and fill percentage:
1=39.5%
2=63.4%
3=77.8%
4=86.6%
5=91.9%
6=95.1%
7=97.0%
8=98.2%
9=98.9%
10=99+%

this is what i would do:
1x3, now, with all Type F
1x3, next oil change, with all Type F
1x3, next oil change, with 2xType F and 1xd6 OR 1xTypeF 1xLightweight racing and 1xD4
1x3, next oil change, with 2xType F and 1xd6 OR 1xTypeF 1xLightweight racing and 1xD4

once you have done this 4x3, I would do a 1x3 every 15K miles to keep some new fluid in there....i was thinking of doing the same....1x3 every 15miles is better than a 4x3 every 60K miles....

dont forget to do your switches and transmission filter every 45K miles....

holla if you need any help

-Anil

Thanks everyone. I have been trying to find a DIY for the transmission filter. I got the car from an older guy. The car drives pretty good. For 5 grand I didn't complain much. Only bad thing about the car is a dent, some scratches and the paint on the front end. The dent is not to big but it's there. I'll try to come out to one of the meets and get to know you guys.

Thanks for the links swoosh. I will be ordering my parts very soon. should I just order the oem parts from ackTL05? just trying to see if it would save me some money ordering the filter, pressure switches, etc by a vendor on here or just go to my local acura dealer?
