NEW: Acura Sets All-Time Monthly Sales Record...
Torrance, Calif. 04/01/2004 -- Acura set a new all-time sales record this month, selling 17,285 vehicles and shattering the previous record set in May 2003 by 4.8 percent, the division announced today. In addition, the TL sold 7,310 units, eclipsing the March 2001 previous all-time record of 6,922 vehicles by 5.6 percent, while the MDX posted a new March record high.
The TL performance luxury sedan has been Acura's top selling vehicle for the past six months. Year-to-date TL sales are up 43.6 percent at 18,620 units, surpassing last year by 5,825 vehicles. Continued strong demand for the MDX helped the luxury SUV achieve record March sales of 5,194, besting the same month last year by 6.3 percent.
"Despite a somewhat tentative economy, Acura sales continue to increase at a record pace," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales. "And next week in New York we will unveil a prototype of the all-new 2005 RL with leading-edge technology that will revolutionize the concept of all-wheel drive."
The hot-selling TSX sports sedan also continues to perform above forecast with sales of 2,206 units. A prototype of the 2005 RL luxury performance sedan will make its world debut at the New York International Auto Show next week.

Time to pick up some Honda stock.
There must have been a wave of TL sales here in Cleveland. After only seeing two other TLs since October, in the last week, I have seen SIX. Three of them today! One was an SSM I saw on 480 today on the way to work, and ANOTHER on I77 north, another anthracite, also on the way to work. Another was an anthracite I saw on 480 east on the way home from work, part of lic plate was "DVKATTY". Any of you guys here?
Cleveland is often a little slow on the uptake with national trends. Glad to see the TL here!

Oh, I just noticed that we can finally see Dick Colliver's name without asterisks!

Do you think that the huge February and March increases were fueled, in part, by the Consumer Reports article? My own experience is that I had been curious about the TL since reading various reviews in November and December. I received the Consumer Report (that listed the TL as tops in its category) in late December, and went for a test drive the next day. I took delivery in March. For me, the CR helped make me (a cautious type) a believer, and might have done the same for other folks.

When I picked mine up Tuesday evening, the three stall "delivery area" at the dealer was filled with 3 TLs. My salesman put me off to 6:30 because he had a 5PM deliver of another TL that was out of the bay before we got there. They had a trainload come on last Friday and they were flying out of the place.

I've had mine since Dec and used to see one about every few weeks. Now I see at least one TL every week. I liked the uniqueness of my TL as it attracted lots of stares. I guess this is okay as long as the TL don't become a rhoid like the camery or accord (sooner or later everybody gets one - came from H rhoid as in Camaro or mustang).

Three Wheelin'
I was one of the 7,310. Bought my WDP/parch/5AT/nonavi on 3/6. I was sold on the TL before the CU article but it only helped solidify my decision. I bought because the time was right, the car was there, and I was offered an exceptional deal. Just passed the 500 mile mark and have encountered no real problems. I love this car which is my 2nd TL.

Well we picked an MDX and a TL just in that past week and each time the dealership was delivering a lot of cars.
If you have a great product then people will buy it, and these are great products.
My gripe, with so many people unemployed, Honda should hire them to help cut down on these 6 week lead times I hear people waiting

I noticed on the "what color is your TL" poll question there is 505 votes. And this post shows 36,112 sold that means this board only represents 1.398% of the TL market.
Pretty small percentage.

Yes. Not all 04TLers have ever been here, had time, or known how to browse the Internet. Based on what we know there are limited percentage of 04TLers in this forum out of this 36112 and future 04TLer candidates. Two of my friends driving 04TL for 6 months already, but they never never come to this site.

I really like to know how far that POLL could go.

You're assuming everyone took the time to vote in that particular thread I don't think I did.
A more interesting metric would be to see the total number of subscribers here (that actually own this fine car) and see what the percentages look like. Granted, I assume the percentage will still be relatively small, but I bet it will be higher than the number you are coming up with and more accurate as to the true cross section of owners this group actually represents.

With all the TL sales, they're going to need a second factory!
