New 06 TL

Picked up my 06 TL yesterday (Anthracite Metallic/Ebony/5AT/Navi). I already had my heart set on (and had ordered) an 06 TSX. After reading up on this forum and soliciting your advice, I decided that I needed to check out the TL and drive it side by side with the TSX. I went to the dealer not expecting to change my mind from buying the TSX. The side by side drive (05 TL vs. 05 TSX) was very instructive. It took my wife and I about 15 seconds to decide that the TL was the car for us. We prefer the TL's exterior styling, the interior, the refined ride, and most of all, the additional room in the cabin. It's really large enough for four adults to ride in comfortably, and the TSX was a little tight in that department. I still like the TSX a lot, but the TL is better suited for our needs and lifestyle.

So we called the dealer in Colorado Springs (Pikes Peak Acura), and they had the exact combo we wanted. We worked out everything, and drove down to pick it up. They had it ready, no surprises. It was one of the best new car buying experiences I've ever had.

FYI, before making a color selection, I wanted to check out the new color Alabaster Silver Metallic. The Acura dealer didn't have any ASM's, so I drove the Satin Silver Metallic 05 TL to a nearby Honda dealer, who had an 06 Accord in ASM. To tell you the truth, I couldn't tell any difference between the two; the Alabaster Silver Metallic looks almost exactly like the Satin Silver Metallic.

We drove home last night and absolutely loved it. The car is so smooth and cool on the road. I can't wait to go on a road trip.

You'll love it.

You made the right choice. For me, everytime I saw a TL while driving in a TSX would be really tough.

Pikes Peak Acura is where I got my MDX and my TL- they're good. I had great experiences there, too. Good choice!

I'll bet that's a slick-looking car... share pics when you get a chance!

Me, too! Colorado Springs. I'm out of state right now... missing this great storm...! I'll be around for the next one, though, I'm sure...

DO be safe...

Congrats...

Anthracite sure is a popular color. There are 4 Anthracite TLs at my work parking lot alone. Every other TL I see on the road is an Anthracite.

I own a 06 blk blk tl, the difference between 05 n 06 is an added tire pressure monitering system, and hp rated in a different manner, still the same.

I'll post pics when it stops snowing here and I can clean up the car.

I had to take an unexpected trip yesterday to Denver International Airport (470 miles round trip). Most of the way it was snowing or raining. About 3/4 of trip was on mountain highways, and about 1/4 on freeway around Denver.

This car is INCREDIBLE. It's quiet, comfortable, powerful, and handles great. According to the trip computer, I averaged 59 mph and 28 mpg. I checked carefully the beginning and ending mileage and fuel consumed (91 octane), and I calculated 28.9 mpg.

Can't wait to go on a long trip.
