Need to replace all mounts. Question
Need to replace all mounts. Question
All my mounts need replacing on my 07. Question is there a certain order i should replace em? I figured id start with the tranny mounts first then the rear mount while ive got the valve cover off. as long as i dont tighten them down id still be able to raise engine slightly to do the next mount right? Cuz the last one im gonna do is the passenger side since ive got to do timing belt while im doing these
I didn't notice any difference in the order you go when I did all of mine. Just leave them loose like you said so there's room to play with to get all the holes to lined up. Rear engine mount was the worst of the bunch in my experience. And yes, you should have no issue lifting the engine slightly using a floor jack with the mounts loose, just make sure you use wood in between the jack and oil pan.

Pretty much, this!

You can use a floor jack or emergency jack with a piece of 2x4 wood.
I usually in start with the rear to get it out of the way. The other three are a breeze. Just remember to lower the jack before righting anything down! You don’t want to strip a bolt while thinking, “why is this bolt so difficult to tighten”?!

They make rubber pads for jacks. Some rubber is softer than others. Rubber may distribute the pressure more evenly than wood. Wood doesn't really compress much more than metal jack pad. Maybe a little more than metal but it still has pressure points which can damage. .
Read some of the reviews on several pads before you buy one. People will comment on softness.
Example only

If the passenger side one is currently bad, replace it first otherwise it takes out all the rest. If you don't mind a little vibration at idle, use a urethane side mount. I was having problems every few years with motor mounts tearing until I went with a urethane mount on the passenger side. Haven't had any issues since I did that in 2016. I used the Innovative mount.
