Hi, is it worth it to buy an 06' TL white/black with navi that has 68,000 miles for $20,000 at a dealership? Interior and exterior is in good shape, I say 9/10 for both. I read on this forums that some of the 04-05' TL have transmission problems but not sure about the 06's. What do you guys think? What would YOU do?

 

I just purchased an '06, Anthracite Metallic, w/o nav., 25500 miles, clean carfax 1 owner, super clean, for $20795. Yours sounds a bit high w/ that many miles. I admit I scored a really good deal, though.

 

was that through private or dealership?

It was a dealer. I initially was going to do trade-in about 5 weeks earlier,at $23,488, but the dealer would not give me what I wanted on trade. I just sat back and checked it every week or so . Once they dropped it to 20,995, I went back and just did cash down . Be patient, not a lot of people in the market for large purchases with the economy being what it is. Cross check your TL against others listed on autotrader, cars.com, etc.. and use it as negotiating point with dealer. My guess is that there are others priced better than the one you are looking at.

 

i just bought an 05 with 22k last week for 18500. They gave me a GREAT trade in on my O6 GLI. $200 less than i paid 1 year ago and 18k later!

 

its more like 16K for 68K miles..

 

yeah wow. i should definitely wait or look around..
also, hows your guys' 04'-05' TLs? tranny going good? i know there are two recalls and SOME 2004 and 05's trannies are bad, thats about it.

 

any other opinions or advice?
